So, I've had a DVD+R drive for about 2 years now, and I never really noticed this before. The pack of DVDs says 4.7GB/120min, but it seems no matter how I author the disc, I can only get 60 minutes of movie on there. Is there some setting or something I can use to squeeze more on there? 4.7 GB for only 60 minutes seems a little big, and I know that most people fit 120 minutes on a disc... so what am I doing wrong? For the record, I've been using DVDStyler, but I also had the same problem with Sonic.

Why do certain Windows applications eat up 100% of my CPU processing capacity, and what can I do about it? This just happened when I started up Zelda Classic, and happens with my SNES emulator. Additional clues and oddities under the fold, Cartalk-style. [more inside]

Hard disk management. I have several hard drives, running from 20GB to 120GB. My primary C: drive is on the 20GB drive, and the other day I noticed it was taking quite a while to do things, the C: drive was down to about 20MB of disk space! What I'm looking for is a disk manager that would look at hard drive and tell me what folders are taking up what space on the hard drive, so I could prune the offending directories. I'm on Windows 2000, and would prefer freeware.
