When a candle is burnt indoors, what happens to the wax? An amount of smoke equivalent to the mass of the candle is released as it's burnt (?)--does this manage to escape the house, or does most of it stay in the room and coat the walls, floors, ceiling, etc.?

Is there a specific name for the Catholic candles you can get at Mexican grocery stores? The ones in glass jars with pictures of saints, Marias, or Jesus? And can anyone tell me more about them, such as how they fit into Catholicism or their cultural resonances? I'm curious about them, and I've found remarkably little info on the internet-- which leads me to wonder if I'm not using the right search term, or if (egads!) there actually is not a website out there with information.

Does anyone know where to get/order St. Norbert and/or St. Hubert candles? I'd like to get 7 day candles if I could, but any help would be appreciated. I'm trying to get something along the lines of this.

My sister gave me a lovely big pillar candle for Christmas. When I went to burn it last night, the wick burned off. There's a little tiny stub of a wick- I can light it, but it only burns a small blue flame. Can this candle be saved?
