Last week we found out that my mother has breast cancer. This isn't her first battle against cancer as she had colon cancer six years ago, and so far mom is being very matter of fact and strong. She is going in for surgery to remove it tomorrow and then will start the whole radiation/chemo regiment in the new year. Any good last minute, easy to find, supplimentary gift ideas for her?

I have a friend who may lose his eye because of cancer in his sinuses, which is being treated with radiation. I'd like to buy him an eye patch, and specifically wanted to buy one that was high quality. Can you suggest some vendors, some suggested designs (especially funny ones), and anything else you think I might could do that would let him know how much he's loved?

[Asking for my dear sister]
I am a third-year female medical student and have recently kicked Lymphoma's ass. Needless to say, this was quite a challenging journey to take while still remaining in school and I would have been extremely hard-pressed to stay in the game without the help of a couple of core friends who were constantly there for me.

wit whim and whimsy filter: over the last 9-ish years or so... i have established a tradition of bringing a bag of maltesers http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maltesers to my darling friend every time we go to the movies. no idea how it started... but it's a tradition.
now she has cancer. it's terminal. it's pancreatic. and she can't have maltesers any more.

My friend's wife is recovering from breast cancer. They removed the tumor a couple weeks ago, and they found no sign that the cancer had spread to the lymph system. She's expected to make a full recovery. But in order to kill any remaining cancer cells, for the next 2 months she'll be undergoing chemotherapy, and then 1 month of radiation therapy afterwards. What can I do to make life easier and/or lift the spirits of her and her husband?
