Good noise cancelling headphones for a home office with young kids?

Noise cancelling headphones for use in a home office with young children around. Comfortable for all day use and not too expensive. Possible? I'm looking for some comfortable, not too expensive, noise cancelling headphones for use in a home office. I have young children at home and am hoping to screen out as much of that sort of screaming and crashing noise as possible during working hours. I'll probably be listening to quiet classical music or nature recordings.

I'm not really that fond of earbuds as they always seem to sound a bit too loud or too harsh to me. I wear glasses, so I'm not sure how well over-the-ear headphones would work out in the long run. This leaves the on-ear variety, but I'd question how well their noise cancelling works, and the long term comfort.

There may not be a perfect answer to this, but I'd be interested in your opinions and experiences. Thanks.

Can I cancel my iphone contract due to AT&T's wiretapping?

Is there a way for me to cancel my iPhone contract because of the fact that AT&T has been wiretapping customers? Basically, the monthly fees are a bit too much for me right now and I was thinking about downgrading. Can I cancel my contract with no fees because of their behavior? It seems to me that this should be legally possible.

BTW, I bought it within the first month that they were released.

CANCELLING a 1and1 hosting account

Have you CANCELLED your 1and1 account successfully (by success I mean they stopped charging you and they released the domains registered through them)? If so, what steps did you follow?? I haven't started the process yet -- just researching right now -- but I've read a lot of 1and 1 cancellation horror stories here and elsewhere.

Radio Shack Smack

Is it possible for Radio Shack to "not guarantee" an "allocated" online order can be cancelled? Sorry, long description. I ordered an item from Radio Shack online a month ago. They said it was in stock, and lo, 24 hours later, it was not. After waiting 2 weeks, I cancelled it. They weren't very nice about it. This was about 2 1/2 weeks ago.

I get an email tonight telling me the item was shipped—this even after a cancellation, me collecting the name of the person I spoke with, etc. When I called back tonight, I got an explanation about how the item was "allocated" when I ordered it, and that the customer service agent I spoke with the first time put in a request for cancellation, but that cancellation cannot be guaranteed once an item is “allocated”. This is the first I have heard of this from Radio Shack or anyone else, and sounds like complete horseshit.

A few other factors-- in the time between my cancellation and today, my credit card company lowered my APR, to issuing a new card. Radio Shack has the old card number (and that number, while attached to the new card for about a week, is no longer). I don't know if I can get caught in a situation where Radio Shack comes back with a "you gave us a bad credit card number", and have that be a fiasco. Also, I do not want to have to spend any of my own money to return this item. The agent I spoke with tonight said the likelihood of getting a prepaid return box from Radio Shack is close to nil. Can I simply refuse delivery through UPS? Is this a wise thing to do?

What are some things I need to be prepared to say to the supervisor should he or she attempt to make this hard? As far as I was concerned, and was led to believe by the first call I made, this thing was cancelled weeks ago. I want no part of seeing the object, having it touch my credit, nothing. Any suggestions?

Noise cancelling headphones for under 100 dollars?

Good noise-cancelling headphones for under $100? I'm moving into new work quarters where I'll be in a cubicle-type environment. I need headphones that will dampen the noise from my amiable-but-loud co-workers. I'm used to just hooking up the ole IPOD to my stereo speakers, but that won't do in the new space where I have no door. I don't like the buds that come with the IPOD. Any ideas?
