For motion itself, will a new canon point and shoot (digic5) have the same movement quality as the 5d mark 3 (their nice digic 5 slr)? I understand that the lens quality will differ (chromatic aberration, etc), but what about seeing how the video handles movement, skew, and motion?

Does this device exist, and if not, how can I modify cheap consumer digicams to create it:
A cheap portable digicam that will endlessly record video to some kind of small memory buffer, say enough memory for 1 minute of video, such that I could leave it running for days on the off-chance of it recording something interesting, and when something interesting happened, I just press a "Stop Recording" button, and the last 60 seconds of video are sitting in memory.

I'd like to shoot a series of shorts with security cameras, as well as some with lipstick cameras and the like. Nothing illegal or snoopy - I'm just going for the look itself in some films. Does anyone have any recommendations, or advice from experience?

I need a wireless security camera system. My requirements are that it be able to support at least 8 cameras, be reasonably high-res, and be able to capture and record streams digitally (not just take still snapshots). Motion sensitive activation is a plus, but not required. Ability to view the streams using a standard web browser is a big plus, but not necessarily required.
Budget is flexible, but I'd like to spend less than $5K total if possible. If that's not realistic (high or low), say so.

Video geeks: I am looking for either a MiniDV deck, or camera to act as a deck. All the reviews I find on cameras seem to focus on video quality, but I'm in the market for
playback features and compatibility. Help?

When I record video on my Nikon Coolpix 4500, the sound is a fraction of a second out of sync, which is enough to turn every family video into a kung foo movie. Any suggestions on what might be causing this?
