I had a Nikon FE, back in the day. This camera died, perhaps of a broken heart, around the time that film started to fade in popularity. Along the way I acquired a Nikkor 50mm, a Nikkor 28mm, and an off brand zoom.

I'm going to be in NYC soon. I buy a lot of import (read: straight from Shenzen) photography junk (stands, lens hoods, macro rails, Benro tripods/heads, LED lights, etc). All cheap and low-ish quality.
I buy this stuff on eBay and it is almost always coming from Shenzen or NYC/Jersey. If I wanted to see stores or kiosks full of it, where should I look?

Looking for a compacter-than-DSLR camera to take traveling for a couple of months. I really like my Nikon D90 for its low-light and manual capabilities, but I don't think I'll enjoy bringing it around with me the whole time. I really want a camera that can handle low light and takes good video, without being as bulky as an SLR. I think the NEX-6 satisfies these requirements pretty well. Do I want a NEX-6? Or something else?

I bought a Nikon D90 with the 50-105mm/f3.5 kit lens and a 55mm/f1.8 fixed lens. I liked it at first, but now I hate it. Is there any way now to like it even a little bit?

Good camera for shooting ceramics? I'm shooting some ceramics for an Etsy seller (along with some other work) and am wondering whether I'd be good with a basic P&S camera or whether it'd be worth renting a DSLR. If a P&S, do you have a recommendation for purchase that would be good for shooting art and crafts in the future?

For motion itself, will a new canon point and shoot (digic5) have the same movement quality as the 5d mark 3 (their nice digic 5 slr)? I understand that the lens quality will differ (chromatic aberration, etc), but what about seeing how the video handles movement, skew, and motion?

I just impulse purchased a Holga 120 camera (well, one for me, and one as a gift). I know next to nothing about this camera. My questions are: What else should I have in order to get this most out of this fun little camera (accessory wise)? What type of film should I purchase? Any tips you have about interesting ways to use the Holga? Any other must know information? Thanks in advance!

Do you see any advantages for a photography novice in 2010 in starting out with a 35mm SLR that shoots film of the dipping-in-chemicals-in-a-darkroom variety? I'm toying with taking up photography purely for artistic/pleasure reasons, doubt I'll be taking classes, and would be spending no more than a couple hours a week on this.

About ten years ago, I was given a couple Pentax 35mm film SLR bodies, and some lenses, which I was happy with. Especially the SMC-M 50mm f/1.4 lens, with which I discovered bokeh and existing-light photography. But after a while, I got tired of having to store and process film, since I just put all the pictures into my computer anyway. So I got a *ist DS, since that was compatible with all my lenses. But my favorite prime lens has been turned into a zoom by the reduced sensor size. The closest equivalent I've found is the FA 31mm Limited, but that costs ~$1000 USD, and its not even f1.4, its f1.8. Given this issue, along with the fussiness of getting all the auto-exposure/focus stuff to work the way I want it to, and I'm really missing my film camera bodies. Or is there an alternative?
