Oops . . . I dropped my camera on the ground and now I'm experiencing this error. It's not the batteries; it's definitely because I dropped it. The little part that moves the lens in and out appears to be jammed inside. I didn't drop it from a particularly great height so I don't think its broken forever. It still turns on and off and takes pictures, it just can't focus. [more inside]

Digital Camera repair: I have a Canon S-40 that has stopped working. It just doesn't power on. What is the best way to go about repairing it? Do local camera shops do this kind of work these days or will this entail sending it in to Canon world headquarters? If you think I should just pitch it and buy a new one, what do you think of this one?
