I paid off my car in December, and haven't been around. I'm now back home with the car in California, and I have the car title from the bank/company. The title says I have to notify the DMV within 10 days or something like that, but I'm obviously wayyy past that time frame now. What do I do? Google searches equally tell me to (a) transfer to my name and my name only, asap, removing the bank/company as lienholder, and (b) don't bother until I sell the car. Argh!! Which one is it? Help me, so I don't have to wait at the DMV ... and be told that I don't need to be there after all!

Planning a vacation in California in May and was thinking I would like to do some cycling and see a bit of scenery. Sonoma and Yosemite seem attractive options, but where to stay and hire bikes? How many days should I set aside for this? I could be in the San Francisco area for ten days or so.

OK, so I've been mulling over the notion of getting a tattoo for nearly a decade now, and as of this week I'm finally sure of the design I want. I live in the South San Francisco Bay Area (San Jose/Santa Clara) and am finding myself a bit overwhelmed by all the Yelp reviews, etc., of local tattoo parlors. Specific shop recommendations and/or tips on identifying the most newbie-friendly establishment would be greatly appreciated.

Every year for our gift exchange, there's a theme. This year the theme is kind of action - adventure related, think about some of the activities on the Amazing Race. I'd like to give something more "do something" than "get something" this year, given the following parameters:
- Less than $100
- Probably within 1 - 2 hours drive of the East bay / Oakland / Walnut Creek, California
- Gift will be for an individual, but with a family, so family friendly preferred
- Will mail me a gift certificate / gift card online or via phone.
I'm looking for things like zip lines, running-related, climbing activities, bungee jumping, etc.
I don't live in the area so the phone / email / online part is important since I can't go down in person.

I'm looking for unique gifts/souvenirs from California for my sisters and girlfriend (all in their 20s) and for my parents. I'm traveling the length of the state so almost any location would work. I would prefer to spend $50 or less on each gift but I have some flexibility. Local/unique items or something specific to California would be perfect! Food can work but must be nonperishable as I have lots of driving to do.

Northern California trip planning help please! I'm attending a wedding in the Sonoma region this summer and would like to plan a week-long Northern California trip ending in Geyserville. I'll be with family and need to stay in hotels or B&Bs, (not camping or not motels.)
I'd love help with itinerary ideas, especially national parks/forests that might be fun for trips in the area. If you have stayed in nice hotels or B&Bs in Northern California, please share your suggestions. Kid-friendly ideas also appreciated. I've got a full week- would like to stay in maybe 2 or 3 locations (not necessarily moving every night).

Help me plan a 3-day trip to Joshua Tree (CA).
Or alternatively, suggest another really cool natural area to check out in Southern California in late January.
I am in my cousin's wedding in the L.A. area and am coming with my girlfriend. We decided to take a few extra days--she's never been to California and I've only ever kept my visits to family time, usually in the OC area.
We're renting a car, so we'll have transportation. Is late January a good time to go? Do you have any recommendations for gear rental (doubt I'll be able to climb, unfortunately)? I have gear at home in Michigan, but I'd like to travel light.
If you have alternative suggestions--they can be around L.A.--I'd love to hear them.
Thanks.
