I'm looking for an online day planner that lets you schedule your To Dos. I like to plan my day by assigning a time estimate to each to do item and then sticking it somewhere in my daily calendar. For example: "laundry" 1-2:30PM.

What time/project management software or sites might be able to help me view my week in hourly clumps and allow me to check off completed tasks or monitor their success? I've tried a number of GTD services, but none of them has been quite right, so I'm looking for suggestions.

Can anyone suggest a good, relatively simple open-source or low-cost file/client management program suitable for use by a small law firm? The software should be able to schedule/calendar, manage documents, track tasks/to-dos, and associate all of these things according to particular clients/matters. Something that syncs between machines is a definite plus, as is something that isn't a resource hog. We manage the accounting side separately, so that needn't be a component.

I have an Excel document listing dates times and other information. I'd like to import this "calendar" to iCal but cannot figure out to get the information imported properly. I found
this tool, but couldn't get it to work. I also found this application,
iCal Maker but it doesn't seem to work either. Anyone have an idea on how to import a bunch of events listed in an Excel document to iCal? [More Inside]

imacs and palm pilots and windows systems - do they play nicely together? i'm trying to help a friend figure out if his soon-to-arrive imac (his first mac since 85) will be able to sync with the calendar and contact software on a palm pilot. he currrently uses ACT at work (WIN), but is willing to change that to a different calendar/contact solution that will allow him to sync the palm pilot at home too, (and add info at home). any advice on simple solutions or best practices?
