I use Google Calendar a lot, and mostly to add events occurring at specific times. I click on the desired day on the monthly calendar, and fill out the field with something like "6am remember to take out trash", but for years I haven't been able to discern a pattern as to whether this will result in creating: 1) A calendar event set for 6am that says "remember to take out trash", or 2) A calendar event set all day (not at 6am) that says "6am remember to take out trash". Half the apps on my iMac that sync with iCloud have corrupt or missing .plist files that prevent them from launching. Signing out of iCloud, restarting, and logging back in to reset synced data did not resolve problems. Running First Aid on drive returns no errors. What next? [more inside]
I have been using the Calendar app on my Macbook - running Yosemite - and would now like all the various events (or “calendars” - the color-coded categories in the sidebar of the Calendar app) from it to appear in a Google calendar. [more inside]
I missed an appointment today as I didn't hear any of the FIVE alarms I had set in my phone, despite it being on the desk right beside me at the time. It seems Android's version of Google' Calendar's reminder sound is a meek little beep. My version is a klaxon. Is there a way to fix this? [more inside]
When I was a very young kid in the 60's, doctors' offices often had these detailed calendars with tiny elves or hobbity kind of creatures hanging on the wall. I think they were issued by a drug company, but my Google skills are failing to find them. Anyone remember these and can you supply a link to examples? Cheers.
I need a better calendaring option. Must be as simple as possible or I won't use it. Super long details inside. [more inside]

I found the following template online and the design really appeals the way I think and plan but (a) I can't find anyone selling this kind of printed design commercially and (b) I'd like it to be large (24"x36" aka 60x90 cm) and so I can't print up a template myself. Here are screenshots from the template: SCREENSHOT1 SCREENSHOT2 [more inside]

I have a Google Calendar synced with my Mac (Yosemite) where I had a full year's events added while living in Toronto. I moved 3 months ago to the West Coast and changed all settings to Pacific Time, but when I check on the individual upcoming events from this calendar, I find either the event itself is off by 3 hours (urgh) or the TZ itself is still listed as Eastern (less problematic, but annoying). I am a very frequent traveler and am often in different time zones. I have an iPhone and have been using the native calendar app. Unfortunately, whenever I move between time zones my calendar "helpfully" changes the times of my flights and appointments. Using time zone support does not fix the problem, but makes it "help" in slightly different and still wrong ways. I need a calendar app that does not do this and assumes I entered the information right the first time. Does anything like this exist?
My company recently decided to move everyone from Outlook to Google Apps. Now a lot of people who are used to Outlook (and MS Office) in all things are being hit with a new environment. It's going okay, but I've volunteered to give a short presentation on how to make the most of the new tools, since I have a lot of experience using them for my personal stuff. Can folks suggest good online resources either for me to mine for tips, or to hand out to users for their own reference later? [more inside]

I have a Mac with OSX Mountain Lion. My university uses Oracle Calendar 9.0.4. In the past, I have set up syncing to my iCloud calendar using my iPad with SyncML pro, so I know I can do this, in principle. What I'd like to do is find a way of syncing to my iCloud calendar without an iOS device - preferably an OSX application. Why is this so hard to figure out how to do? [more inside]
Homemade bunny-themed calendar seeks bunny-related alternatives to standard month names. Bunuary and Fuzzuary have already come (and gone), but we've got 10 months to go and more than a few particularly ill-tempered months to rename. Can you help? [more inside]
I am finally going to stop using a paper calendar and start using my laptop/iPhone/iPad instead. However, having used ol' reliable paper for so many years, I'm a bit paranoid about using Google calendar (or an app) and then losing all my data somehow... Is there an iPhone/iPad calendar app that would make me feel more "secure," or is there a service like Backupify that doesn't require a Google Apps account? I'd love to back up my Gmail too, if possible. (Am I just worrying too much? Is using iCloud enough? I am clearly clueless.)

Calendar math question: today is March 25, 2011. I found my old watch in a drawer and the time is still correct, but the watch date window says 13. How can I sync an online calendar feed (xml) with either iCal or Google Calendar? I know I can sync iCal and gCalendar easily through several methods. But what I also need to include is my department's events calendar. I can import it as an iCal or Outlook file, but this is only a one-time option. Once the department's calendar is updated I don't receive the new or changed events. And I suspect if I import the (newer) file again, I will get many duplicates. The calendar has an xml feed I could subscribe to, but can't figure out how to translate this into a calendar that automatically syncs or updates. Willing to consider any options that would lead to the online calendar (.ics, .csv, or .xml file) being auto updated to any calendar application. This would make my life so much easier! Thanks!
