I'm at business school, and we have regular social functions, mainly happy hours, promoted by the school with the aim of expanding our networks.
It's not like I'm bad at them. I'm actually pretty sociable. But I'm there for a reason, and I wouldn't be there if I had a choice.
Can anyone suggest ways to optimize this socialization time, for example, exercises I might practice at these events to be more witty, funny or charming? Thanks!

Just graduated from a top business school in the United States (H/S/W/K/M, etc.). I am $130k in debt, with payments of $1200 per month staring at me from 6 months away.
I'm still not sure what I want to do with my life. Help!

Does anyone out there work on the business development side for a creative company (design firm, architecture firm, fashion, etc)? Do you have an MBA and/or do you think it would help someone break into that type of work?

Does anyone have any experience getting your MBA while having previously been in the art world or had an art history BA? I am thinking of applying next year but haven't been able to find any guidance for someone trying to make the transition from the art world (dealer, administrator, etc) to business school.

What kind of jobs are open only to a JD/MBA, or would be likely to express a strong preference to someone with both degrees? I have a general idea, but I'm looking for specific examples so I could justify (or, if there are few/no examples, forget about) the time & expense of a dual degree (vs. only a JD).

Earlier this month I applied to the Master in Accountancy program at a state university. I have an excellent bachelor GPA, but it’s from a 3-year math/comp-sci program at a Canadian university. I have been taking intermediate accounting classes from a professional association, trying and failing to find a related job in the meantime. My work history is spotty at best. In short, I knew my chances weren’t good.
… until I took the GMAT today and scored 780. What now?

A couple years ago, I took the GMAT and thus got subscribed (to be fair, I think I opted in) to get on a bunch of schools' marketing lists. I seem to have fallen off of that list, despite the fact that right now I am starting to seriously look into MBA programs. How do I get back on the "please spam me" list for B-Schools?

Right now, I plan to start business school in the fall. It's a top five program, and in all likelihood, my salary after school will be about twice what I make now. That said, I'll be borrowing about $80K to cover the costs in the short-term. Is this a good idea? I'm excited about b-school in general but perhaps not to the extent that I'm willing to incur a debt that will burden me for decades to come.
