Cheap buses from NYC to Washington D.C.? The question's been asked and answered in the past, but I'm wondering if that information is outdated. Thanks!

Magic Bus or not so much?

How easy or hard is it to travel from London to Edinburgh on either train or bus when compared to a quick flight as an option? Is the experience worth the time and how does the cost versus hassle play out?

My parents are curious why the police had the northbound I-4 + on ramps closed in Orlando (until the turnoff for the airport) for 4 Mears buses on Dec. 31 at 2pm or so? Who was in them?

Which NYC bus routes have the most to see?

What New York City bus routes are the most scenic? I thought it would be a nice idea to take some visiting family members on those big red tourist buses, but the price is too rich for my blood (it's more than $50 per person, if I remember correctly). It then occured to me that for the low price of a Metrocard, we could take public buses instead. So which bus lines should we ride to see all NYC has to offer? Manhattan preferred, but outer borough lines won't be ruled out.

San Diego visitor tips for Seaworld area, and do we need a car?

Visiting San Diego this weekend: do we need a rental car, and is there anything secret and great near Seaworld that we should see? (esp. good coffeeshops for hanging around in?) We'll be going to and from the airport, to a hotel near SeaWorld, to Mission Beach, University of San Diego, and a Padres game. Can we reasonably do all this without a rental car (on buses or by taxi)? If we rent a car, are there any secrets to driving around those areas (eg routes to definitely avoid)? Are there good coffeeshops or book/comic/record stores near where we'll be? Great medium-price restaurants? Other must-sees for bookish types interested in architecture, old stuff, baseball?

How does a visitor get around LA at late hours? I'll be flying in pretty late (maybe 11ish on Tuesday night, details are still sketch) and flying out at 11pm on Thursday night. I want to stay at a hostel in Venice Beach. I also want to see a show 15 miles away at Largo in West Hollywood. How do I get around with paying an arm and leg for cab fairs? How late do buses run? I'm only making $200 on this flight and am trying to keep expenses down but still have a good time.

Renting a car seems out of the option because no car rental place is open 24 hours and it would cost $50+ to rent for just one day.

Is it safe to leave your bike in the racks they have on buses?

Bike+bus commuting: is it safe to leave your bike in the racks they have on buses? It seems like they'd be pretty easy to steal. I have a folding bike, but I wonder if it's worth the trouble of folding it up to take it on board. I'm in L.A. if that makes any difference.
