Thirty years ago, I remember my dad buying bulk t-shirts from one of several companies advertised in the back of magazines. These shirts would have random company logos in random languages, and were clearly a way for t-shirt printers around the world to get rid of overstock. It was like a surprise box every time. My small dog loves squeaky tennis balls and will chase them incessantly, morning and night. However, he is also quite adept at de-squeaking these toys, sometimes within minutes. While he does continue to play with the balls after they have lost their sound, these are far less alluring. As neither my budget nor my house has room for the infinite supply of fresh squeaky balls he desires, I seek to re-squeak these balls with fresh squeakers and some super glue. [more inside]

Recently I learned
that The Sims
creator Will Wright stamps his name on worthless currency and uses that as his "business card". I find this very charming as he can keep his cards alongside his actual cash. I would like to do the same thing, with the cheapest currency I can find, but when I went to the currency exchange place down the road from me, the cheapest currency they had was still very expensive. Each "card" would have cost me like, 20 cents or something. Where can I buy stacks and stacks of worthless cash for rock bottom prices?

I'm a member of a few different groups that periodically put together a bulk orders from wholesalers as a way to get a discount and also to bring products to our small island community that are hard to get otherwise. I'm managing one of these groups, and am finding that as it grows the amount of time spent keeping track of everybody's orders, calculating how much everyone owes, and dividing up the order after it's been received, has been increasing with each larger order. I've incorporated spreadsheets and a mailing list into my process but it still involved a great deal of manual processing. I've started writing some scripts to help out as well, but it occurs to me that others doing this must have faced these problems as well. I've tried some googling but haven't found much information out there, so I'm wondering how the rest of you do this. [more inside]

I'm looking to pick up a TV series on DVD. I'm fine with buying used DVDs, but some eBay sellers worry me. I see folks who offer the same collected sets, using the same pictures, and the whole set is selling for significantly less if I bought the seasons individually. Are they trustworthy? Or am I unaware of large discount sales where these people might get their stock? More queries inside. [more inside]

Each year our company sends our customers holiday gifts as well as a calendar (we use employee photos for the calendar). The gift we want to send this year is a 7-inch digital photo frame. We'd like to pre-load an SD card with past calendar photos - for display on the photo frame. I would like to purchase (at lowest cost of course) 200-300 1 GB SD cards. I prefer no retail packaging (we'd just have to spend time tearing into that stupid theft-proof plastic). [more inside]
I have discovered that someone I don't like very much made a mistake: he sent a large quantity of individually personalized mail at bulk mail rates via USPS. I believe this is a no-no, but ultimately I would guess it is a pretty minor no-no. What are the consequences of this? Are there civil or criminal penalties when this is discovered?

OK, hypothetical situation: you've spent a long time building a huge collection of electronic music CDs (several thousand.) Some of them are "rare" and most of them are "meaningful" but now that you've moved to beatport, torrents & all digital files, real CDs just don't have the same value to you that they used to. And for that matter, there's probably very few albums you couldn't find again if you spent a little time.
At what point do you finally say, "I no longer need dozens of boxes filled with CDs I used to love?" I just reached that point myself. It's time to purge ... but I don't know how to do it! [more inside]

I have a newfound love of tea, especially that from Rishi tea
. However, it costs an arm and a leg for the little container that I can guzzle down in a week or two.
I want to buy tea in bulk, but I don't know where to get quality tea at a good price. Rishi costs $40 a pound. Is $40 the going rate for a pound of good tea? I found this old thread
, but I would like suggestions on a place to purchase online. How is Coffee Bean Direct's
tea? Bonus points for an awesome green/mint blend and fair-trade/organic! If there's a good tea discussion board with pointers about what's good, I'd love to know about that, too!
