I am going on a road trip next week that will include Ithaca, Buffalo, Niagara Falls, and points in between. I'd love some suggestions of fun, amazing, quirky, or air conditioned things to do along the way. We'll be coordinating rest stops so any 'in between' suggestions would be especially appreciated. Moderately physically active OK, strenuous not so much. Trip includes very small children.

Looking for good, cheap accommodation in Buffalo, NY. My partner is visiting to work at Buffalo Uni for about 7 days in late September. They've offered to organise accommodation in a Holiday Inn at $98 a night. This feels a little steep. We'd like to shop around a bit, perhaps look at alternatives other than a hotel/motel. Perhaps a student "sleep in my spare room" scheme or something. Advice much appreciated.

What's healthier: 90% lean buffalo or a leaner cut of grass-fed ground beef?
Both are from Whole Foods, both come from animals that are fed a vegetarian diet and not given added hormones. I'm wondering about effects on longevity, chronic conditions, heart disease, etc.
Also, are chicken/fish healthier than buffalo? I've heard bad things about red meat but I'm not sure how much they apply to buffalo.

I'm taking the Greyhound to Buffalo Airport from Toronto on Saturday. I get in at around 10:30 AM. My plane doesn't leave until 6:00 PM. I will not have access to a car, but I only have a small messenger and a carry-on (that I'm sure can be stored somewhere at the airport) in terms of luggage. Is there anything within easy public transportation of the Buffalo airport that I could spend the day checking out, or should I prepare lots of reading material?

I'm trying to figure out the name of a restaurant (burger joint) that is probably within 100 miles of some edge of Yellowstone National Park. What I remember: it served buffalo burgers, and had an alliterative name with a woman's name and some sort of negative adjective. That adjective may have been "horrible," i'm more certain that it started with the letter "h." I seem to remember some piece of lore about the owner or maybe the owner's son being a chainsmoker. Google fails me. Help!

Going to see girlfriend in Amherst/Buffalo, NY over spring break. Bought (non-refundable/changeable) airfare, just found out that she doesn't get to stay in her dorm and has to live in a big room shared with all other students staying on during spring break. We're both students - is there any specific place the hive mind would recommend to get *affordable* off-campus housing (student or otherwise) for a week during spring break? Following a recommended recipe, we cooked a number of chopped chicken breasts in a sauce that contained a large amount of "buffalo" sauce - you know, the hot stuff that people put on wings.
After serving them we discovered that the sauce was actually the 'fire' version and the chicken was inedibly spicy-hot. We now have two pounds of fire-engine red, top-notch, ultra-buffaloed chicken breast sitting in the fridge.
I'd hate to waste this much food - especially high-quality breasts like the ones we purchased. What can we do with this chicken?

There's a
commission in New York State that's going to force closure of a bunch of hospitals across the state, including a few in my area (
Buffalo). They are also going to force a few private organizations to merge. What gives them the ability to dictate this sort of thing? Is it the threat of withholding funding? I've read many news articles on the closure recommendations, but have missed out on a good ultimate explanation.
