Chrome Browser: When I'm in dev mode and have overrides enabled (for example: "iPhone - iOS 6 / 640x980 / Emulate touch events / CSS media: screen"), Chrome throws a black box over the upper left corner of the web page with status in red text (for example: "Overrides: User-Agent / Device Metrics / Touch / Media
") It is omnipresent and unnecessary. How do I turn that black box off? [more inside]

I've been using Chrome on my Mac and Safari on my iPad Air. Trying to get them both to sync with each other is a challenge. I used a Safari on Mac for a short while recently to keep the two perfectly in sync but I've since switched back to a Chrome on my Mac as it is just a quicker and nicer to use browser. On my iPad Air I've installed Chrome but nothing beats Safari on the iPad as it's smoother and uses a faster rendering engine. Chrome on iOS is a bit sluggish and doesn't feel comfortable to use.
Is there a way that I can sync my Chrome bookmarks and settings on my Mac with Safari on my iPad?

I want the forward/back controls in my browser on iPad to be at the bottom of the screen, same as they are on my iPhone. I don't see any way to do this in Safari or Chrome. My thumb insists on doing it the iPhone way (and quite logically because that's where my thumb already is while holding the device). It is driving me crazy. Please tell me there's a way.

I want to use a Google Hangout "On Air"
for a project, but a tiny limitation is getting in the way. I would like to bypass the 'Press to Talk' functionality with a tiny browser script/hack/modification. My programming knowledge is tiny, but I am sure this could be done super super simply with a script loaded in the browser. Perhaps there's better solution. Any ideas? [more inside]

When you do cmd+/- on Firefox, it scales the text up or down.
When you do cmd+/- on Chrome, it scales the entire page up or down: text, images, layout.
I prefer the Firefox scaling. Can I get this on Chrome somehow? [more inside]

I usually have 40-50 tabs open in Chrome, if I receive an email or whatever and switch to that tab I often have a hard time remember what tab I was just on. An extension to highlight the previous tab would be very useful, I can't find anything like this, anyone?

What is the best (non-keyboard based) way to evolve my amalgamation of browser installs, saved passwords, bookmarks, and maybe settings/extensions into a cohesive, probably exclusively Chrome-based, install? [more inside]

I have a MacBook Pro with all software updated. I have been using Google Chrome as my browser for the last year or so. I also have Google Chrome installed on my Iphone 4s, but rarely use it.
For the first 6-7 month, my bookmarks synced fine between the devices and my Google accounts. About 2-3 months ago, I have started to notice that bookmarks I have deleted have started to show up in Chrome again, sometimes multiple times...
I delete the unwanted bookmarks again, and they re-appear several days later. I have 'googled' my problem and it seems many people have/are experiencing this issue... [more inside]

Please help me thwart the evil Adobe empire so that I can read the Valve Handbook for New Employees (and other .pdf files) on my Macbook again!
Recently, Adobe Reader told me an updated version was available. Obviously delusional, I went ahead and updated my perfectly-working 9.4 to the new version 10, and now I can no longer view pdf documents in Chrome (18.0.1025.163), my browser of choice. What now? [more inside]

How is that Google Chrome can automatically update on OS 10.6 without any user interaction (admin password), but other auto updating software requires an admin password? I don't remember giving Chrome permission to write to my application folder.

In Firefox I can easily find a site I've already visited by typing part of the URL and I get a list of URLs containing that string in a dropdown beneath the address. Can I get Chrome to do this? [more inside]

Is it possible to disable the "most visited / recent history" tab in the Google Chrome browser? I can set Chrome so that it loads a blank page on startup, but when opening a tab it displays all my most visited sites. This inspired one very embarrassing moment when a friend unconsciously CTRL-Tabbed and saw a glaring menu of my darkest internet meanderings. Several sites claim to be able to solve this but no instructions I have yet followed have made any difference.
