About to purchase my first coop apartment in NYC, and it's desperately in need of a new kitchen, among other things. Mr. Narrative and I would like to go and look at kitchen cabinets and counter-tops and tile and such in person, preferably in a nice-ish store. Where should we go?

I am looking for particularly photogenic Brooklyn backdrops for our engagement shoot this weekend. DUMBO and Coney Island are not options. The more specific places, the better! General engagement shoot advice is welcome as well, because I don't really understand the concept.

I often want to head somewhere with a friend in Brooklyn or Manhattan for a quiet bourbon or two in a dark setting. Nothing snobby. Dives are great. But somewhere that two people can sit at a table and chat, in a somewhat disarming setting. I love bourbon, and I want to share my love of bourbon with new friends in charming or crappy settings. I'm a bit of a hermit, so I just don't get out enough to find new places!

My SO and I are looking to purchase a coop apartment in Brooklyn. We have a family friend living with us who would not be on the mortgage, but whom we would like to keep as our roommate. Should we mention this fact to the coop board?

Seeking NYC print shop recommendations for nearly one-off prints. I have about 20 pieces of different, mostly standard sizes -- nothing larger than 11 x 17 and B4 -- that I'd like to make a very limited number color prints of (1 - 3 each). I have an approximate budget of 10 dollars per print I'd like to hew closely to and a number of quality and care requirements.

My weightlifting gym is too expensive for me. Are there any relatively cheap ($100/month) gyms in NYC, Brooklyn/downtown Manhattan preferred, that have squat racks and won't freak if I deadlift? Or do I need to readjust my expectations for what a weightlifting gym membership should cost?
