Today my eight-year-old niece broke her two front teeth, both diagonally so that she has a triangle-shaped hole between her teeth. They are adult teeth. They are on their way to the dentist, but I just wanted to get some information from experiences you all may have had.

one of the feet broke off of my mom's Lalique bowl. it's a pretty clean break, it looks like I could just put it back on. can I? what would be the best way to do this? or am I better off taking it to a specialist to repair?
thanks in advance.

My wife dropped her AT&T Blackberry Torch 9800 in water last night, and even though the phone wasn't damp inside, it doesn't power up. We just came from the local AT&T store, and we can't upgrade until July. The only options they gave us were to buy a new Blackberry Torch for $499 or wait four months and buy it for $99. Do we have any other options? The phone's data has been backed up to our PC, so we'd really like to replace it with a Torch (she likes the keyboard) or at least a compatible phone so the data can be restored.

My girlfriend just broke her arm a few inches above the elbow (spiral fracture). She's currently in a splint and will possibly get a plate and pins in a few days. She works at a desk job, which she will return to after a week or two of rest. What can we do to make life easier (tips, special equipment, etc)?

I just bought a used Thinkpad T61 and the e,t, and space bar keys work intermittently. The keyboard is reasonably clean and nothing is obstructing the keycaps underneath. I have taken out the keyboard and reseated the keyboard connector. Is this just a bad keyboard or should i be worried about something else? (os is linux/ubuntu)

I knocked over my
Whispure 510 air purifier and now it doesn't turn on. No power, no noises, no nothing (yes, it's plugged into a socket, yes, the socket works). Is there any hope? Can I fix it myself? Is there a website or book that can teach me how to do this?

My side by side refrigerator/freezer stopped cooling, so we unplugged it and went to buy a new one. On a lark I plugged it back in 24 hours later, and now it functions perfectly. Anyone know if the problem is likely to return (or what the problem might be?) I vacuumed the back-bottom compartment where the compressor is located, but there wasn't much dust there so I doubt dust was the problem.

My blender has a bit of black dust at the bottom after I use it, presumably from the black rubber connectors under the container and on top of the motor. It still works, but is this normal? Will the black stuff get sucked up into the food stuff I'm blending?

I broke the port on my external hard drive. It isn't visibly damaged, but when I plug the USB cable in, the port feels wiggly, like it's not connected to what it should be connected to. Nothing happens when I plug it into my computer. How can I fix this or recover the data?

This is likely a dumb question. :) But I have this little microwave. Both the glass turntable and the plastic wheel thing are broken. The microwave itself works fine and heats things up. Short of dripping stuff down into the motor enclosure where the wheel+turntable would normally sit, can I use this microwave normally long-term with no worries? I'm assuming that the only difference is the food would be unevenly heated (I could manually turn), but I just wanted to make sure the turntable motor business wasn't connected to anything else. Replacements would cost more than the microwave at this point.

Book recommendations: Recently I have discovered that I really enjoy a certain type of flawed character in television shows. Think Gregory House on House or Dr. Cal Lightman on Lie to Me. Wounded inside with a tough smart exterior that push people away with sarcasm or slight jerkish behaviour. Help me find examples in literature so I can continue my current obsession when I shut the tv off.
