kenmore clothes dryer help: my wife and i recently purchased a home that came with a kenmore washer and dryer. at the time of the house inspection, the dryer was working fine. we have tried to use it since moving in and it no longer functions. any ideas what could be wrong? [more inside]

Our gas dryer stopped working. When the "Start" button is pressed the machine hums, but won't tumble. Reading this leads me to believe the problem is with the motor. Any idea what a fair price is to get such a problem serviced is? We're trying to evaluate the relative value in having this repaired (the preferred option) vs. possibly buying a new (or used) unit. I've never dealt with this type of repair before and want to avoid getting ripped off, of course.

My dryer is broken! It still makes its usual hollering racket, but it no longer heats up! Our clothes were all damp this morning. :( Help me before I have to string clothes across the house and turn all the storage heaters on! [more inside]
