Help me find out what I'm missing on the Beebs

I've really enjoyed all the programming I've seen from the BBC themed seasons (The Edwardians, Shakespeare ReTold, the current Poetry Season). Where can I find a list of the seasons I've missed? I guess I'm hoping for a page on the BBC site, Wikipedia, Amazon or somewhere that lists the seasons for easy reference, but I haven't been able to find one yet. Barring a nice, organized site, are there any that pop into your head? Here's what I've seen already:

*Shakespeare ReTold
*The Canterbury Tales
*Fairy Tales
*The Edwardians
*The Medieval Season
*The Poetry Season
*Or ITV's Jane Austen Season

I'm curious about any ITV seasons (although they don't seem to do as many).

What British Television should I be watching?

What British Television should I be watching? Being a bit of an American anglophile, I watch a lot of UK television. We'll gloss over how. :-)

But I find that i don't even know certain shows exist until i blunder across them by luck, and I am sure that I am missing a great deal of shows I should be watching. I realize, of course, that this is highly subjective, and there's no way to tell me what I'll like -- but if people can point me towards well-liked/respected shows out there I've never heard of, I can look them up and see if I am interested. :-)

To show some of what I do or have watched, in no particular order: Blackadder, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, The Prisoner, The Avengers, Python, The Office, Extras, I Claudius, Mr. Bean, Fawlty Towers, Hyperdrive, Spaced etc. Some of those are brilliant, some are decent, but they're all stuff I've enjoyed. Absolutely loved Yes Minister/Prime Minister, even with my rudimentary knowledge of UK Government. Never quite got into Red Dwarf, but it's usually the type of thing I like. Quite into the last 29 seasons of Doctor Who, especially the modern relaunch and Torchwood (and keeping my eye out for the actual start of Sarah Jane Adventures, though the pilot wasn't all that exciting to me.) Because I like Tennant from Doctor Who, I've <strike>downloaded</strike> acquired Casanova but it is yet unwatched.

A small ampling of the US TV I like tends to be the darker sci-fi shows (DS9, Modern Galactica), the science stuff (Nova), bad 60's Drama (Mission Impossible, Time Tunnel) Arc-based television (above mentioned Galactica, Lost, Heroes), Shows with people who are jerks (House, Office US), etc.

Again, I know this is vague. So, sort of - ignore all of the above, and tell me this: What UK Television do YOU like?

Do you know this funny animorphic goalie cartoon?

Do you know this funny animorphic goalie cartoon? I saw a late-night cartoon on in England in, I believe, the late-eighties or possibly 1990 or so - this cartoon detailed the adventures of a cartoon football (or soccer, if you prefer) goalie, and was quite funny (at least, to the younger me).

I think it may have had something to do with Viz magazine, but I'm not sure. I also think the goalie was a fish, but again, I could be wrong on that. Does anyone know what I'm talking about here?

OK UK TV?

I'm an American and I want some recommendations on British TV comedies. I have a British friend who used to periodically receive copies of British TV shows from his parents (most of which were not easily available in the US) and we would watch them together during our lunch break at work. Although we are still friends, I don't live by him anymore and my supply of random British comedies has dried up. I am looking for recommendations of shows I might like based on the ones I know I like and dislike.

Like: Knowing Me, Knowing You, The Alan Patridge Show, The Office, Extras, The IT Crowd, Brass Eye, The Day Today, Jam, Ali G.

Don't Like: The Young Ones, Little Britain, AbFab.

Anyone know anything about Father Ted and Black Books?
