Hi, I'm flying in to Syracuse for a wedding in Brewerton this weekend. We'll be eating some breakfasts and lunches at restaurants. Where should we go? We like all sorts of cuisines and would like to have some tasty food at fun places.

I moved to DC recently-ish, but haven't explored the restaurant scene very well. Now I have a friend coming to town next week, staying right near the Dupont Circle Metro station, and I could use some recommendations for places to eat. Can any locals help me out?

I am starting a new corporate job in the city next week after working in a casual semi-rural office for the past 2 years, where I could make toast for breakfast whenever I felt like it. I can't eat within the first hour of waking up so am looking for some great breakfast smoothies/drinks I can make that I can drink on the train to work that will actually fill me up until lunch time.

Instead of buying individual yogurt cups in artificial dessert case flavors, I buy a large container of greek yogurt once a week and make parfaits in
these containers for a grab&go breakfast. I need more ideas for delicious things to mix into plain yogurt.

I'll be in Berlin for about a week and would appreciate recommendations for cafes/breakfast places. I'll be staying on the border between Kreuzberg and Neukölln so places near there would be especially appreciated.

My wife loves hash brown casserole and I was going to whip up a batch this weekend for her but all the recipes I can find call for a bag of frozen shredded hash browns while I have a 7lb bag of whole potatoes.
Is there any major difference between using frozen bagged hash browns and shredding up a few potatoes of my own?

Where can I buy better bacon? I would be loathe to complain about any bacon, but let's be honest, grocery store bacon really pales in comparison to what you can get at good local restaurants. I'm in Sacramento.

Two questions regarding an impending long, early morning commute and smoothies (in order of importance): have you found a "base smoothie mix" I can make in advance on Sundays (and possibly Wednesdays) for use later in the week that I can add frozen berries/granola to for a quick breakfast? And also, is there a badass (stainless steel, preferably) ~32 oz thermos/cup with a lock-tight sealing lid that you love?
