For 5 years, I was in a great relationship with a fantastic woman. Never crazy with infatuation, but never, ever bad. Shared values, great time together, all-in-all great. Story ends when LDR, move to a new city, and new person contribute to my decision to end things. Now I'm not sure what to do and looking for resources, related journal articles, advice from strangers. A lot of details inside.

Seven months ago I cheated on my partner. Six months ago I came clean to him. Three months ago we broke up. This past week we have begun to spend some time together, and I feel like we both reached a breakthrough last night. Am I crazy to have this renewed faith in/willingness to work for our love? Do I need to finally let it go? Much more inside.

About a decade ago, I stubbed my big toe so badly that I clearly broke it. My crappy University Health Services refused to x-ray it, insisting that it was just a normal stub. I have since had severe pain every step I take, I can't really bend it very well, it sits differently than the other toe, and I am incapable of wearing heels or doing various athletic activities that I am dying to do, or even wearing most flat shoes, or taking long walks. I fantasize about it being broken again and then set correctly, but I have no idea if this is something that is done. What do doctors tend to do in this kind of situation, so I have some idea before trying to arrange a way to see someone?

I really want to take a break from this relationship, maybe in the next six months or so. My boyfriend is slogging through the process of sorting out his mental health issues, and I'd like to let him know that I want the break, but I don't want to force it on him right now. Is that a bad idea?

Working with an ex. We just got out of each other's space. Now our only point of interaction is work. It is awkward and uncomfortable, not just because of the obvious but also because it seems he's going out of his way to be unpleasant. The job is great, the pay is amazing, and the company is awesome. I've been there for a year. He's been there for a year and three months. Quitting is not an option for either of us.

I feel bad giving tough love to my mom when she is feeling depressed about breaking up with her asshole boyfriend. I don't know how to make her situation better for her, or to ease her pain. All I can do is lend an ear but its annoying that my privacy is invaded constantly because shes totally out of it. I never had a private moment to myself all my life, that's a different story. How can I make light of the situation without losing my own sanity?

Breaking Strength of Marble. How much weight can a sheet of Tennessee pink marble support? Sheet is 1"x12"x30". It and two others like it will be the base of an octagonal plinth which will support a concrete urn weighing about 200 lbs empty, maybe 400 lbs when planted. Plinth is entirely built of this marble and hollow inside. I am open to suggestions for interior supports, currently thinking of gluing a rod to underside of marble and extending it below ground surface.

I had posted a question a little while ago on how to finally move on after ending the on again off again relationship I had with my daughter's father. I received great avice, thanks. I cannot say that I have yet fully moved on, but I am now having more good days than bad. However, one thing I am having such a hard time dealing with is the fact that my daughter is now spending so much time with either his family or his new girlfriend, who he began seeing again only 3 weeks after we broke up. (he dated her briefly during one of our separations)

Niece EvilBreakfast is on the road to recovery after a break of the femur. Although doctors say that the positioning of the pins inserted to help heal the break shouldn't cause a problem, since the bandages came off she's unable to straighten her knee.
Physio has not helped, and after 3 months we're starting to get concerned. The doctors and physiotherapists are saying that there's no reason for the problem; you are not my doctor... But has anyone else come across this and have any suggestions?

So my buddy and I watched that old Keanu Reeves film Point Break the other night, and we got to talking. We're thinking that more air pressure causes you to bleed at a more furious pace. So if someone's in a knife fight in a plane, is cut, say across the arm, then jumps out of the airplane to parachute to the ground - will they bleed to death before they hit the ground because the air pressure is causing them to bleed so quickly? It doesn't have to be skydiving, it could be on like, Everest. Will you bleed crazy fast higher up? I know that there are a lot of variables here, but I'm just curious if the thinking is sound.

Do unassembled plastic model kits become brittle or warped over time? Is there a preferable medium for building replacement parts?
I'm assembling MPC's The Strange Changing Vampire (1970s) and pieces are breaking. I think it is styrene. One piece just didn't fit; I tried heating with a hair dryer (ineffective) and hot water (ruined the piece). I can replace it but the ones that broke are moving parts, essential to the function of the model.
