Help me find this bracelet

Help me find a replacement for this bracelet! It is broken and I used to wear it daily. The catch: I have no idea where it came from as I found it on the street 4 years ago. The only distinguishing mark is the following engraved (or maybe stamped?) on both ends of the clasp:

925
MEX
66111 (or maybe GG111)

I would also accept something that looks similar, but with a bike in the middle instead (I saw one a few years ago in the REI headquarters in Seattle and have yet to find anything like it since).

My girlfriend really likes bracelets made from ordinary objects. She has a fork bracelet and a bike chain bracelet already. What are other objects that I could turn into bracelets for her? Or, alternatively, what are some cool Etsy shops that make cool bracelets out of everyday stuff? She likes them to be thick enough to cover a (fairly small) scar on her wrist, so nothing that only wraps partially around (or that's super thin).

How can I remove serious tarnish from a silver bangle. Difficulty level: malachite inlay. Today, I found what could be a gorgeous silver bangle with malachite inlays. Since malachite is easily damaged, I can't use a tarnish removing dip to shine up this piece of jewelry.

Any advice on how to get the silver shining without discoloring or damaging the malachite would be most appreciated.

I need a recommendation for a watch store or jeweller in New York City. Can any of you NYC area mefite's direct me to a reputable jeweller or watch store that can change the bracelet of a watch for me? I already have the replacement band, I just need someone to take off the old one and replace it with the new one. I just purchased a new watch from overseas and it was shipped to me unadjusted. It seems to me that its an easy task to do, I just don't want to be over charged with this kind of service.

I am looking for a rubber charity bracelet for a friend... website suggestions? i know they are terribly overdone, but a friend of mine is looking for one of the rubber charity bracelets that were so very popular but now seem less so.. ( LiveStrong being the progenitor of the fad i think)

we don't know of a particular one he is looking for but is there a website that can show me a list of charities that sell them?

He is really into all things oceanic so that might be a start. Can someone help me find a bracelet from a cool charity?

Where can I find riveted canvas wrist cuffs? I used to have a pair of canvas wrist cuffs with brass rivets in them. They were about an inch and a half wide, and snapped together. I think I found them at Wal-Mart, though I certainly haven't ever seen them in another Wal-Mart since.

I've looked everywhere I can think of for replacements, to no avail. Any suggestions as to where I might find such a product? I have pretty skinny wrists, so they'll need to be available in a small size.

Note: I'm not looking for bondage gear, just bracelets. I think the style is called 'cuff,' but I may be mistaken about that.

CraftFilter: I want to make a bracelet designed around a ring, but I need instructions. I have a plain, silver ring that has a lot of meaning behind it, but I would like to stop wearing it on my finger and thought of the idea of making a bracelet that holds the ring. The best thing I can come up with is using a piece of nice looking string and tying both end to the ring., but that's pretty lame.

I know that there are some great craft sites out there, but I haven't been able to find any instructions for my idea on google. I'd love some ideas or recommendations of sites to look through. I've already found sites on bracelet making, so I don't need any of that, but rather instructions for using a ring in a bracelet, or something that I could adapt towards my idea. Also, I'm a college-aged male, so I'm not looking for anything pretty like this. Manly jewelry only, please :)

Custom Bracelet Design in Toronto?

Where in Toronto can I find someone who can make this custom bracelet? I want to create a bracelet with a 6 word message, where each word is engraved on a separate disc/oval and the entire bracelet is connected together by links. Here is a good example of what I mean, but I'm looking for someone or somewhere that can make it a little bit more flashy and customized for a smaller wrist.

Does any one have any recommendations for someone around the Toronto area who can create a custom bracelet like this?

Can someone tell me who makes the bracelets that American Idol judge Randy Jackson occasionally wears? More specifically, the glass beaded ones? I'm not a huge fan of the show, but I've got a friend who is. This friend is notoriously hard to buy for, as he has the means to basically buy what he wants, when he wants it. This is fun when you're hanging out over at his house, but makes gift giving an activity thats next to impossible.

Last night, while watching the show with him, he made mention that he really likes the glass beaded bracelets that Randy wears on occasion. Does anyone know who makes these? Even if they're one of a kind, or extremely expensive, that doesn't matter - I would really like to get him one of these, as its a rare opportunity to get him something he wants before he goes and buys it for himself.

I tried to find a picture of Mr. Jackson wearing on on Google, but failed miserably. If you watch the show (or have a DVR copy), grab a look at his right wrist; it was pink and white last night, but I've seen other colors in the past.

Help me find a medic alert bracelet that doesn't suck. Ideally, I'd like:
(1) a silver or stainless steel
(2) cuff (no chains please), with
(3) the medical condition engraved on the inside (touching my wrist), and
(4) a non-obvious (not red & not raised) symbol on the outside.

I cannot find one online. Can I purchase a cuff and get it engraved myself? Are engravers usually able to do the medical alert symbol? Are they usually able to engrave the inside? Are there standards for these things? Thanks in advance.

Memorable Christmas gift for fashion maven girlfriend. Is a tennis bracelet tacky? Would a necklace be better? So, I want to buy something lasting and memorable for my girlfriend this Christmas. I have a whole list of things that I know she would love, but nothing strikes me as being all that lasting and memorable.... at least nothing like jewelry.

My girlfriend is something of a fashion maven. She owns/runs a boutique for womens clothing. I am wondering, of you other mavens out there, if a tennis bracelet is a good idea? Is it too 80s? Can it be worn casually? Would a necklace be better?

To give you an idea her style is a Lucky Magazine, InStyle, Anthropologie (the store) sorta of thing. Is a diamond bracelet too Liz Taylor/Zsa Zsa Gabor for this style?

need to find weird folding bracelet clasp for bike chain bracelet ok, so i would like to make something like this from a couple of my own old bike chains but i cannot find that sort of clasp, anywhere, at all. perhaps it has a name and i don't know it.
any leads would rock.
or if you have another good clasping idea, that would work too, i just don't like lobster or very dainty clasps.

A bracelet that restores balance?

How in the world did this magical bracelet work? This kind of snake-oil salesman just came into my shop to pimp out his product, which is some version of an ionized bracelet. The only thing he claimed it could do is help me balance. Obviosuly I was hugely skeptical, so he put me through two tests.

Test one, stand on one foot, hands outstrectched and empty. As soon as he exerted a little bit of pressure on one hand I couldn't help but tip that way. Then repeating the test holding the bracelet, he could not knock me off balance. I was keenly conscious of the amount of force he exerted, and trying to be aware if he or I did anything differently that could queer the results, but nothing like that was readily apparent.

Test two, feet close together, hands at my sides balled into fists and empty. He pulled down on one fist. I was able to counter at first but eventually he pulled so hard that he knocked me off balance. Then we repeated the test while I was holding the bracelet. This guy was literally hanging off my arm and I was able to keep my balance. Again, like in the first test there was nothing different about the way he conducted it that made me feel it was anything but legitimate.

I was pretty amazed and wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't undergone the tests first hand. He was either unable or unwilling to articulate what the bracelet was about, other than to drop the words "titanium", "shakras", and "quantum physics". I believe he was honestly ignorant about the forces at play. He was a salesman after all.

Does anybody have any clue what this could be about? I am totally willing to be convinced that some sort of physical placebo effect took place. But I'm equally likely to be convinced there's something to the magical bracelet.

Where can I purchase this Nepalese bracelet, save Kathmandu? I saw this bracelet on a Gurkha who works a checkpoint I frequent and asked where it was from. He told me that it was from his home in Kathmandu. I asked if he could purchase one for me next time he went home, but he was understandably reluctant to take my money, and I couldn't expect him to front a week's pay for a semi-stranger.

I have googled, yahooed, and ebayed to no avail. Does anyone have any idea where I can order one? I really like the look, unfortunately, a trip to Kathmandu isn't going to fit into my schedule until around retirement in thirty years.

I recently decided to re-visit one of my favorite summer activities: making friendship bracelets. I am looking to a) remember some of the techniques I used to know b) learn new and interesting bracelet patterns. I know the basics. I can make a flat band with diagonal stripes (knotting along a row of strings) and of course the tube-shaped striped pattern made by knotting around the entire bundle of strings. I once knew how to make designs in the band (like chevrons or fish). I also used to be able to do something involving loops over the fingers.

What interesting things to do with string can you teach me? (I have 12 skeins of embroidery thread ready to go...)

Necklace and jewelry storage?

How do you store your jewelry, specifically necklaces? My girlfriend does not have an overwhelming amount of jewelry, but she does have a lot. I have already bought her a jewelry box that houses the rings and earrings well, but she has about a dozen or so necklaces and bracelets that she just won't keep in there. She claims that they "are always tangled" when she gets them out. Instead, she piles them on her nightstand, or hangs them on things that are not designed for hanging jewelry -- and I still end up taking out tangles every few weeks. And yesterday, she knocked three necklaces off of her nightstand and into her garbage can.

So how do you store your necklaces and bracelets? Are there jewelry boxes specifically designed for this? Where should I look for one?

Her birthday is in one week, so this is probably going to be her gift. My price range is about $50-$100. Help!

Help me Locate a Lost Bracelet, PLEASE.

My fiancee lost a (sentimentally) valuable bracelet in Manhattan on Saturday night. What could I do to help locate it? It's silver with interlocking hearts -- one larger gold heart. It may have been lost on the N train or the 6 train uptown or downtown or in the area between 63rd and York and 59th and Lex. I'll do anything to get -that- bracelet back.. any ideas?
