The long-distance boyfriend and I have decided to get engaged and he's moving in. Yay!
Me: 40's, divorced, sole adult in household for over 11 years, raised three kids, with youngest (14 yo son) still at home. Have friends and a happy life here.
Him: 50's, never married but has a son in his 20's with whom he has a great relationship, has friends and interests he can continue to explore here. (He also has a job ready for him here.)
To anyone who has experience of this type of situation, what advice do you wish you had been given to make this as painless (and ideally, actually fun!) as possible?

What's this YA/children's book? A boy mysteriously arrives on earth somewhere like Tennesee or West Virginia. He can run fast and jump very far, heals quickly, gets along with animals and has no concept of violence, wars, etc. He's taken in by a family who also has children. Over time, they grow to love him and help him, while some neighbors are afraid of him and grow more and more violent. At the end of the book, his people are dancing in the hills/woods near a portal? and the boy invites the family that has taken care of him to return to his world with them. A few more details are after the jump.

Our son (6 months) loves it when I sing to him, and I love singing to him too! I'm looking for great songs to sing to my baby. Bonus points for songs which have the word "baby" in them or ones which are fun but subversive.

What is the name of this movie? - man brings young boy off the streets to live with him and his girlfriend after boy is separated from his mother. Boy turns out to be incredibly talented artistically. I think the man has to give the boy up because he never went through proper channels and basically just kidnapped him, but I can't remember the details. I think it's a recent movie and it's driving me nuts that I can't remember more...

We're having a boy But we can't think of a name! As we're both atheists, we'd like a name that is not at all religious. There's extra points if you can come up with a science connection and triple bonus points if it's more difficult for other kids to make fun of.

I have a son, almost 12, and a daughter, 9, and have been thinking about getting them involved in more outdoor activities. They're home-schooled, so they do get the opportunity to get out and play in the yard and with a few other kids in the neighborhood, but I'd like them to be introduced to a wider range of activities that outdoors-type groups like the scouts might provide (and not being an outdoorsy-type myself, might be able to better instruct in), but I'm put off by both the nationalistic and religious overtones that seem to pervade the Scout oaths. I'd prefer something with more of a global/wildlife focus.

I have been teaching myself guitar over the past few years and I still don't understand how to structure and play a guitar solo. Let's say I am playing a simple blues progression (I-IV-V) ...I have taught myself the blues scale... but when do I play what note? And do I need to move the scale up/down the neck in time with the progression. I want to be able to noodle an original solo... not just copy something already recorded.

Help, am I crazy? I am concerned over my 12 year old son. He has always been a sensitive kid, has a lot of stuffed animals in his room and cries easily, but lately he has started to become very effeminate in his mannerisms. He does play a lot of sports, but he is the least aggressive kid on the team and always afraid he is going to get hurt.
