Hello. The other Boston area marriage counseling posts are several years old. I hope metafilter can help me find a good marriage counselor.
My husband and have been together for 17 years, married for four years. He is at his wits end dealing with my depression (which I'm currently in treatment for).
We need to talk to someone soon. Please give me some recommendations of good couples counselors.

Can anyone recommend a good therapist/psychologist/counselor who deals with motivational issues in downtown Boston? (I work very near South Station.) I'd prefer it if they accepted health insurance. I'm in Providence the same day every week as well, if you know someone really, really good there, too. By motivational issues, I mean a very heavy and intense inertia, affecting my home and work life, probably tangled up with depression and ADD or something like it.

Hi All,
I'm looking for a CBT (cognitive behavioral) therapist in Boston. I'm interested in talking about relationships, my goals, my career, etc. I have a history of dysthymia/mild depression. My insurance is Harvard
Pilgrim HMO. I'm open to other varieties of therapy around the CBT
vein, dialectical behavioral therapy or whatever, as long as the
person is good. If you have a suggestion of someone who doesn't take
Harvard Pilgrim, or you don't know, please list them anyway.
Thanks!

I've taken a one year leave from a grad school program in physics. I was very unhappy in grad school, and I'm now leaning towards not going back. My next best idea is to become a high-school teacher in physics and/or math in the Boston area. Am I crazy? How do I do this?

We've been thinking about moving to Jamaica Plain for a while but have been looking mostly around Centre St / Sumner Hill / Pondside. Now we've found a pretty great place available, but it's on the "wrong" side of the tracks, due east from Green St station, right by Franklin Park.
So, how is it around there? How is Franklin Park? We're somewhat worried about crime/safety. Also somewhat worried about being relatively far from the nicer shops/etc on Centre.
Would love to read any advice on this specific area, or JP / Franklin Park in general.

I need a therapist. I recently moved to the Boston area, I don't really know anybody, and
Psychology Today isn't doing it for me. I know that I'm clinically depressed (runs in the family, and relatives who are docs say so), and it's gotten worse of late. It's ruining my job, my life, and my sleep. Where do I find a top notch psychiatrist/psychologist?
