I'm planning a visit to Boston where I grew up but haven't been in a while. I don't like stressing about traffic and parking. Should I take the T or rent a car? [more inside]
I know the MBTA (or a historical org related to) sometimes hosts rides of their vintage buses and trains. Unfortunately I can't find a schedule online (and most searches for "vintage MBTA" take me to maps and schedules). Any idea how I'd learn more about this?
Cambridge, MA's Alewife MBTA station: how much does a monthly parking pass cost? The MBTA's vendor site has all the clarity and customer service that you'd expect-- I need to register and provide a credit card number before they'll tell me the price and I just want a number. Thanks!
I'm traveling to E. Greenwich, RI for a wedding in September and it's about $60 cheaper per person to fly into Boston than to Providence (arrive Thursday 3 pm - depart 7 pm Monday) I don't really want to deal with the traffic driving from Boston to Providence so I'm looking into rail options but I can't make heads or tails of the MBTA schedule. 1) Can I pick up the Providence line at the airport or would I have to get a cab or bus to the train? 2) Can I take my luggage (probably two bags)? 3) Can I rent a car on arrival in Providence? 4) What will it cost?
Boston commuter rail double-deckers (bilevel trains). Can anyone confirm which routes and/or times are serviced by double-deckers? Neither the MBTA website nor customer service seems to know. [more inside]

PVD to Boston MBTA filter: Does the Inbound Providence / Stoughton line stop at Ruggles Station the first time--or is it true you have to loop around before they let you off?

Is there any empirical evidence out there about which MBTA subways/buses are actually most reliable? [more inside]
What's the best/cheapest way to get to Terminal B at Boston's Logan Airport so that I'll make a 7 am domestic flight on a Tuesday?

Boston residents, can you please tell me if The Dorothy Quincy Suite (180 Berkeley St, Boston) is accessible by any of the MBTA train lines.

Trying to improve my commute from Framingham to my boyfriend's house in Brighton, MA. Where can I pay to park in Brighton near the corner of Summit Ave & Allston St or near a Green Line B stop? [more inside]
I'll be travelling from NYC to Boston via bus or train (as yet undecided, probably bus) on Columbus Day weekend. That part is easy, it's getting from South Station or Greyhound in Newton to my destination that's challenging me. [more inside]
BostonFilter: I need to get to the Prudential tomorrow, and I'm coming from out of state. I'll probably take the T rather than drive in directly. Help me not get lost! [more inside]
Boston Metro Filter: Does the greenline riverside MBTA station parking lot fill to capacity during the day? [more inside]
CluelessFilter, MassachusettsFilter: "Mobil station at exit 17 off 495 in Franklin". Totally lost about how to find out whether this location is even vaguely accessible via the MBTA/commuter rail? I can plug in an address at the MBTA site but I have no idea how to find nearby addresses or that of the Mobil station at that particular exit.
BostonFilter: I'm annoyed that I can't find info about this online anywhere, but is the MBTA doing their usual fare-free subway and bus rides on Earth Day this year (4/22)? I'm having a housewarming party that day, and I want to invite all my out-of-town friends up early to frolic around town. Their Web site tells me nothing, nor does Boston.com.
