I am at a meetup in Boston at a German restaurant (Jacob Wirth) and we have been served cornbread as an appetizer, but none of the mefites present thinks of cornbread as a German food. Can anyone tell us if there is some Germanic cuisine connection we are missing here?
Hope us, please -- a half-dozen curious mefites are baffled.

I am traveling to Wellfleet , Cape Cod for a week this Saturday.
I would like to do a lot of cooking for my aging mother and need to do a healthy shopping on the way from Logan Airport.
I would go into Boston to Whole Circus and Trader Joes, but it is not really on the way.
Where can I go for a good grocery shop, preferably with a decent organic selection, that is in between Logan and Wellfleet, MA

I owe a colleague breakfast. Who will deliver a basket of breakfast goodies (bagels, doughnuts, or pastries) to an office in Weston, MA?

My gentleman friend and I will be spending the weekend in Boston. We've been before, so we've covered the Newbury stretch and would like to branch out a bit this time. We'd like to eat and drink at some great local places (no chains, please). Neptune Oyster is on our list. What are some of your favorite restaurants and/or bars in Boston and why?
(We're staying at a hotel on the Waterfront, but are certainly not limited to that area.)

Just trying to get out of a dining out rut.
Any great casual none-too-pricey restaurants in the Boston area (preferably around Waltham/Lexington for me and my kids?
Me and the kids are fans of Chinese, Italian, American, pretty much anything but Indian.
If you know the area, we love Capitol Grille, Redbones, Santarpio's, Wagamama, Upper Crust Pizza, Legal's, Summer Shack, Watch City Brewery.

The last time I went into Boston, I was horrified to discover that Ned Devine's in Faneuil Hall no longer served my favorite appetizer of all time: warmed and breaded goat cheese bites. Please help me find another restaurant in the Boston metropolitan area that serves a similar appetizer. [more inside]

Cheap eats and good beer in Boston. I'm in Boston for a conference in mid-April, and I'm looking for cheap dinner options. I'll be downtown but I'm more than willing to travel the T for good, cheap food. Any recommendations for good beer are also welcome.

Meeting a friend for lunch in Boston. She's at the Boston Convention Center near the World Trade Center, I'll be around the public gardens and the Common. She only has 2 hours to get somewhere and eat, while I have all the time in the world. Where should we eat? Under $20 a meal would be great.
