I'm about to not get acknowledged for my work on a project I put my heart and soul into for several months (at a junior level). Others working on different aspects of the project at similar levels are thanked. There's still time to change the course of events. Should I approach my boss and bring this to his attention? If so, what's the best way to do this professionally? Suggestions on what to say?

My employer showed up half cut yesterday morning and proceeded to botch up 2 phone calls with clients. This isn't the first time and he doesn't hide his drinking and has been sober and "tried" AA. His performance and attendance are compromised when he drinks, one client called back and asked if he had been drinking.

I'm starting a new job on Monday - it's in the same company but at a different location. I've been with the company quite a while and I know my new boss is a bit of an ass, so I want to get off on the firmest best foot - if it's possible I want to position myself as someone he doesn't need to be an ass to/ competative with. What suggestions do you have for good pre-emptive or early actions/ behaviors?

I've been working six months now at a small ad agency in a medium sized city (70,000). I come from big agency experience. I'm an art director. We have 8 people total, all great people to work with. I like the change from big city to smaller city. There are a lot of plus-es to it. Just recently, we landed a big account. They're looking for a redesign of their brand and ad campaign with internet, non-traditional, advanced website... the works. Whereas most of our job lists for clients number in the few, this one starts with well more than a dozen with several of them as very big projects and with very tight deadlines (in the next six weeks). Skipping to the question, I've been asked by the creative director to step back and stop treading on toes via email. More inside...

Please help ensure the success of my friends new school teaching job. It looks like an excellent job in many respects, but there are two stumbling blocks:
1. The boss is tricky, likely a
corporate psychopath.
2. staff are expected to work approximately 30% longer than regular school on-site hours, for no extra pay or compensation.

I work for a magazine publishing company, and I think I am making a lateral move to another company which offers more upside potential in the future. I get a base salary, but most of my income comes from commission. The company I work for is relatively small, a LLC, and I dont think there are any $$ problems. My boss however is somewhat of a tyrant. My concern in leaving is that he will try and find a way to stiff me out of any remaining due commission to me. It is currently and ranges around 20k, in which he owes me, and pays me off in increments per paycheck. When I started here, we had put the agreement down on paper...(more)

What coping strategies will help me deal with a new boss (on a much-needed temporary job) who is admittedly "anal rententive." She is anxious, rude, insecure, demanding, disparaging of my judgement and predicts my ultimate failure.
If I didn't need the money so much I'd move on, but I want to keep this job. It's not a career move, just a matter of income. How can I manage and tolerate her and or cope with what seems to be a difficult situation? TIA
