Is there a marketplace on the web for bookmarks? I would love to buy experts in various fields bookmarks... I can imagine some more well known individuals (sean penn, yoko ono, ted turner for example) bookmarks might be worth some dough?

I want to take my bookmarks.html file generated by firefox and run it through a script that checks for rss feeds for the pages and returns the list of rss feeds in a file. Is anyone familiar with a script that can do this? I've been googling for it for a day or two and can't find what I'm looking for.

I've installed Firefox version 1.5 onto my computer (the original version was already on there), but the "bookmarks bar" isn't showing up. I thought it was a feature on this version. What gives?

How do you archive your bookmarked articles and sites for quick recall? I've always been incredibly impressed at the ability for some to post a link to an article they've read a year ago at a moment's notice. How do you find it so quicky? [more inside]

I can't get del.icio.us to work for me! The 'pop-up' and 'post' buttons in my tool bar open with IE and I think this is causing problems. Is there a way to get them to open with Mozilla instead of IE?
No problems happen if I click the post method from my saved (mozilla) bookmarks, that works perfectly, but if possible I'd like to be able to click on my toolbar..
I can't find any help for del.icio.us, at least not for this problem, not even with a google search. I'm hoping someone here will know what to do. I'd really like to use del.icio.us Thanks! [more inside]

I've been using OpenBook
to change Firefox's Add Bookmark behavior, but it isn't quite what I want. I would like the Add Bookmark dialog box to have the Description field included. Is there any extension or hidden setting that will allow me to expose this field?

Just like that, all Firefox bookmarks (several thousand) gone, homepage set back to this. No apparent viruses. Everything else seems fine. History is still there, and no suspicious websites there (JJill?). I have a back-up of bookmarks from many months ago, but would dearly like to get the later version back. Firefox 1.0 (I know, and today another scare.) Any thoughts?

SafariFilter or AppleScriptFilter: I very often collect bookmarks of pages I'd like to look at in Safari, through the double magic of NetNewsWire and Saft. The problem is that I end up having one folder with 180+ bookmarks in it. I often then manually split them into chunks of 20 using cut and paste, but it strikes me that there's got to be an easier way to do that automatically via AppleScript. However, my google-fu
fails me in that respect.
Anyone know of a link to an AppleScript that takes one bookmark folder and splits it into folders with x
number of bookmarks each in them? Or any AppleScript master and MeFi resident out here savvy enough to whip one up for me?
I'll send you a cute picture of my cat sunning himself in a sunbeam, if you want. :)

Are there any alternatives to del.icio.us that A) allow private bookmarks and proper categorization, B) have simple (I'm thinking along the lines of FoxyLicious
for Firefox) and complete browser integration and C) are reasonably fast.(Gmail-type would be nice, I could tolerate slightly slower)
I have checked Furl, but I get the feeling it's not quite what I want. Hyperlinkomatic seems to be close, but the couple of times I have hit the site it hasn't been teriffically fast, and for my bookmarks that's not really acceptable. Moreover, I haven't seen anything like the above-mentioned FoxyLicious for it. [more inside]

I have 300+ bookmarks in my web-browser which are either organised badly or not at all. Instead of spending hours re-categorising them manually, is there anything automatic that can help? (Browser of choice is Firefox, but happy to covert back and forth to IE's favourites format if necessary)

How do I synchronize bookmarks between Firefox on different computers? I use Firefox on several computers and would like to synchronize the bookmarks between them. If I add a bookmark to one computer (or perhaps 50 bookmarks all over the place) I want to be able to get those new bookmarks into the other computers and in the appropriate folders. When I use the import function it imports every bookmark and folder even if already present. Deletions are not that important, I rarely delete bookmarks.

I like the way Foxylicious
copies my delicious bookmarks into my browser, but is there anything which will work the other way, copying my bookmarks into delicious, using perhaps the menu structure for the tags?

FirefoxFilter: Is there any extension or option (even if it requires hand editing) that would allow me to have Bookmarks open in a new tab by default (instead of rightclicking and selecting this from the context menu)? I'm really surprised none of the tab extensions include this option.

My Mozilla bookmarks are gone! For easy access, I place links to my favorite sites in a toolbar. The bar is still there - it has icons for Home and Bookmarks on the left - but all my links are missing. I didn't delete them, I didn't switch profiles, and I didn't disable them, at least not intentionally. I'm using Mozilla 1.3.1 (yeah, yeah...). I tried dragging a new link to the toolbar, but it didn't show up. What's going on? Where did my links go? How can I get them back?

Another (probably stupid) Safari question: how can I (if it's at all possible) add bookmarks without driving one of my essential links off the toolbar? [More inside.

I use both Firefox and Mozilla for browsing. Is there any way to share the bookmarks in both (i.e.: if I add a bookmark in Mozilla it shows up in Firefox and v.v.)?

I use a whole bunch of PC's - three mainly, my laptop at work, and a desktop and laptop at home...I'd like to find a way of keeping my favorites synchronised on all three OR keeping them all in one place on the web and being able to access them...oh, and I'd like the solution to be 'free' and look cool...(is there an easy way to harvest the 500 favorites on my work laptop - and turn them into a web page?)
I use IE6 on all of my PC's....but some web based solution would allow me to access all my links from other machines/browsers.

Now that I have a Real Job, I'm stuck working between two home computers and two work computers, all Windows systems. Bookmark management has become a nightmare. I'm looking for some sort of remote management system where I can combine all my bookmarks and manage them in my webspace, so I can access them from anywhere. I'm up to about 1500 categorized bookmarks, so a mostly automated system would obviously be preferential. Any ideas?
