This shouldn't be too tough, but I can't find it: I'm looking for a book whose cover is a teenager or man with a tattoo of Mickey Mouse's profile accross his face. It was incredibly shocking when I saw it, but the title didn't stick with me and googling isn't turning anything up.

Whilst at school in the UK in the late sixties I borrowed a book from the local library. The thesis of this non-fiction book was that aliens lived and walked amongst us and could be recognised by a predilection for wearing black. The argument was presented in a fairly low key, rational manner and,if I remember rightly, the book was published by Gollancz in their standard yellow and black cover. Not a lot to go on I know.Something deep within me wants to know if it was good rubbish or bad rubbish.

I'm considering writing a book about game systems in the 80's and would like to be able to include screenshots of many of the games. What do I need to do to be able to include those screenshots without being sued? Does this fall under the copyright law's "fair use"? Does the fact that they are older games make any difference? Apologies if this has been asked before - I couldn't find anything related to publishing game screenshots.

A friend of mine recently told me that she can't read comic books. She doesn't have problems with understanding text or visual information. She's been a voracious book reader since a very early age and she's a dedicated film watcher. I didn't entirely understand her explanation but she says that she never learn to decode the tight coupling of textual and visual information in comic books. Has anyone heard about or experienced something similar?

I have been asked to find one page from

Headed to Tulum and Playa Del Carmen April 1-10. Semi winging it on accommodations so very open to anyone's suggestions for reasonable (maybe even romantic) places to stay (staying at CabanaCopal for a couple nights). Been there a few times and enjoy exploring. Anyone have any favorite spots, places to eat, cenote or snorkel spot they want to share? Good cheap massage? Fav local spot on 20th?
AND how about a great vacation book - my last beach trip I read "The Great Influenza" and I'm looking for something a little more fun!

Identify this book: My friend recommended a book to me. Except he doesn't know the title, or the author. It's about spelunking. It's fiction. He thinks it takes place in Italy. He says the main character has/had relationship trouble, and ended up with a Volvo (he thinks) that reminds him of her, so he is always kicking it. But mostly it's about exploring caves, and scuba diving through underground rivers. He recalls one particular part where the character(s) were dropping ink or power packets into the water to determine the water speed/exit points.
If this sounds familiar, please let me know. Thanks.

Looking for a book of everyday statistics that I read within the last few years. I remember one that went something like: It's 250 million times more likely that you will win the lottery than be born. Also some statistical information on why you should finish High School. Does that ring a bell with anyone?

Scenario: Linda, an author, is at a party. Linda says that she is writing a book about near-death experiences. Sarah, a guest at the party, says, "Oh, I had one!" and proceeds to recount her experience to the assembled guests. Linda finishes writing her book and includes Sarah's story in it, using Sarah's real first name and some details from Sarah's life (profession, husband's first name and profession, Sarah's religious background). Is Linda legally allowed to do this without changing Sarah's name in the published book? Did Sarah waive her right to privacy by telling the story at a party? What about Sarah's personal details, which were not revealed at the party, but known to the author because of their shared social circle? Legal citations are appreciated.

Someone help (Please). I remember reading a book at School in about 1979-1980, although it may have been printed way before that, it was similar to Tin Tin, and may have been about A Adventurer in space. It also contained a section where our adventurer meets aliens (I think) and you were provided with a Translation section!! Any ideas, i know it's vague, but it's kinda driving me nuts.
PS I'm from England so it might be a English publication.
