The "Star Wars" of books, you might say

Are there any prominent examples of authors who wrote the middle book (or even the last book) in a trilogy first? Non-fiction preferred, but will take fiction examples, too.

Book Reviews All The Way Down

"Book review" typically refers to the review of a single book. Is there a term for a single article that reviews the collective works of an author?

Best Source for Book Descriptions?

I'm currently working on a research project that will lead to a written product (an article or report, either published in a magazine/journal, or released online). I want to create an appendix to the report that has the names and descriptions for books referenced in the report. This will be an extensive list, so I don't want to create the descriptions myself. Can I use the product description that is put out by the publisher (the one that is used by Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other book sellers)? If not, what are my options?

Unique ascent. How do you plan to get down?

Tufte's Beautiful Evidence

Edward Tufte was supposed to be coming out with a new book, "Beautiful Evidence" I believed scheduled for last fall. I haven't seen anything about it; does anyone know its status?
