I'm looking for a short mystery stories book I read in a library. One of the stories is where a character comes up a flight of stairs and thinks he sees something (a murder?) in someone's apartment, but it's actually some kind of mirrored reflection of a mirrored reflection of someone through a window across the street. The book/collection was published before 1996 and if I remember correctly, was all short story mysteries of 5 to 20 pages.

I want a set of Discworld bookends for my Terry Pratchett collection. I'm particularly interested in Death, as I already have a gift set with the Librarian and Rincewind. I'm having trouble even finding the bookends online, and shipping directly from the UK would be pretty expensive, as they're heavy (naturally) and I'm in Florida. Where to look? How to get the best deal? Any help from the hive mind would be greatly appreciated!

RareBookFilter - Have tried using amazon.com, amazon.fr, amazon.co.uk, bn.com, alibris.com, powells.com, abebooks.com, bibliofind.com, and a saved search on eBay.com, all to track down a certain out-of-print book. No luck. Even the LA and NYC public libraries got nuthin'. Fabled MeFite librarian posse, how the hell can I get my grubby paws on a copy of "Histoire des Juifs de Rhodes, Chio, Cos, etc." by Professor Abraham Galanté (1873 - 1961), published in Istanbul in 1935?

Since everyone else is doing it.
[Bookfilter] Fantasy book (or perhaps trilogy), It may have been classed as young adult (I found it in a middle school library). Main character is a member of the ruling class who are distinguished by their violet eyes. Main character goes on your standard fantasy book quest.
Can anyone remember seeing this?

Anyone out there have recommendations for book cataloging software? I'm looking for something heavy-duty. Barcode capabilities are nice, but since a good chunk of my collection dates from the 19th c., they're not necessary. The ability to export to a webpage would be a plus. I've been googling around for a bit, but would like some firsthand testimonials.

I'm making a display for the library in which I work. The display is to show off our collection of children's book in languages besides English. I want to have phrases like 'reading is fun', 'read books' and so on in as many languages as possible. Please list away!
