Who bombed the statue?

In response to this post: did the Weather Underground actually claim responsibility for the Cleveland Rodin bombing? The Cleveland Museum page claims it was the Weather Underground; Wikipedia doesn't mention it. Google results are thus far inconclusive. Where would I go to find the official word?

Good time to travel in India?

Older Tourist in India in November 2008? My mother has had a small group trip to India arranged for months now, but the recent bombings are worrying her.

Talking to expats I'm hearing a lot of "Yeah, bombings happen occasionally. No big deal.", as well as the occasional person who thinks the situation may be escalating into Hindu/Muslim riots but also "Yeah, riots happen occasionally. No big deal."

New Dehli is rather central to her plans, so she's mostly worried about the situation there.

I'm looking for opinions from people on the ground in India. What do you think? Is New Dehli likely to be enjoyable for a 68 year old American (read "not used to the occasional riot and bombing") woman in November?

Thanks in advance.

Help me remember this movie...

I'm trying to remember what the title of this movie was. I think it was made in the 1960's or 1970's in the U.S. I remember watching it on TV on the Sunday Matinee show in the 1980's. The plot involved this millionaire who wanted to attack the Soviet Union, he had a small force which was to attack Russia by driving trucks across the polar ice cap. All I can remember was that in the end of the film his plan is thwarted by the Soviets, who send planes to bomb the ice, and the trucks sink to the bottom of the ocean. Any ideas?

Article link about Israeli terrorism against US.

A year or two ago there was a news story about Israel awarding medals to several agents of their government for acts of terrorism against Egypt and the United States (in the 70s I think). Formerly they had been denounced by the Israelis as "rogue" agents or some such. Anyone have a link to the story?

Gravestones against walls

In my impressionable youth I was told that the gravestones in coastal SE England towns were put against the churchyard walls to obviate church and thus town identification by the Luftwaffe. Now I am older and have gained some reasoning skills, it seems to me that this might not be the reason. 1) Even if you got rid of the obvious markers of the gravestones, bombers would have still been able to see the very obvious church (they're usually the largest buildings and grounds in a community area), plus there would have been a whole bunch of houses. 2) It seems to me that the more likely explanation is that they wanted to add some more human sponge to the trifle that is a graveyard and so removed the markers that identified occupied spots.
I haven't been able to find anything online. Anyone got any pointers?

A field recording of two minutes of silence.

Is there a field recording of the two minutes of silence yesterday honoring the London bombing victims? I read a blog post describing the moments leading to the two minutes. The writer described the cacophany of the city suddenly becoming quiet. It seems to me that a recording of that event would be interesting to hear.
