I made some pickled eggs for the first time. I just opened the jar, and: all of the eggs are varying shades of greyish- brownish. Most of them still have white spots and stripes. They smell fine (for hardboiled eggs soaked in vinegar I mean), but will I die if I eat them?

What should I do with a pot-full of drained, boiled vegetables used to make veggie stock? We're talking about potatoes, onions, carrots, celery, and garlic. Eating them with salt is nice, but a little boring...

Easter was 2 weeks ago...more or less. Wife made some hard-boiled eggs to color. Our 20 month old did her 1st real colored egg. How can we preserve it? [more inside]

I've been trying to find green Spanish (or goobers) peanuts, in the shell, that I can boil at home. I've searched the web and found many sites that have them green out of the shell. I live in Florida and every so often my grocery store will have the big Virginia peanuts. However, they are not as sweet. I'd even take green in the shell Valencias. Anyone know where I can find some?
