Looking for a basic DVD + Blu-Ray player with HDMI. Doesn't need any kind of network streaming (TV and other devices handle that already). Ideally under $100. Am okay with buying used off craigslist or something if the model is known to be pretty reliable. Suggestions?

How can I easily and reliably play Blu-Ray discs now and in the future? I have a HTPC, but the software bundled with the blu-ray drive is old, and a new version is around the sales price ofr a decent-looking stand-alone blu-ray player.

[DVD/Blu-Ray Commentary Filter]What compels the star(s)/director/producer/whomever to do commentary for a DVD/Blu-Ray release? Are they paid for that session of sitting and watching the movie while miked up? Or are they just hoping for more sales for their share of the back-end? Or is this just out of the goodness of their heart (particularly on "anniversary" releases)?

Can you help me get my Cox Cable universal remote (M7820) to play nice with my Sony Blu-ray player (BDP-S380 / BX38)? Both Sony and Cox tech support tell me there are no remote codes in existence to program into the Cox remote. That just sounds ludicrous to me...what's up?
I know how to program the remote, just need the proper code.

I'm looking to buy blu-ray versions of all of the Star Trek movies. Problem is, I just want high-quality versions of the VHS tapes I had as a kid in the 80s and 90s (because really, most of the allure is nostalgia here). I don't want director's cuts, special versions, or anything like that- just the original VHS releases. Amazon is confusing the hell out of me, because there are about 40 versions of each movie and I'm not sure what is what. Does anyone have a link to the original movies, for sale, on blu-ray?
