Years ago (2002? 2003?), long before Etsy, there was an online community for DIY/crafty blogger types to trade materials and maybe handmade goods as well. What was it called, and what happened to it? [more inside]

I am trying to aggregate and distribute news about an organization from all over the web. I already have a handle on the distribution side, but I need help on aggregation and publishing part. What are the benefits and drawbacks of hosting blogging software on a domain separate from a blog's domain? The only advantage I see is that it keeps my blog's log files clear of my MovableType 3.11 installation, resulting in cleaner traffic reports. I see no disadvantages. Is it better to just make subdomain for the software installation?

This is an embarassingly simple question, but after plowing through the Internet Explorer prefs, I can't find the answer.

When using blogger, a small window is left on your screen with a "close" button. When you click on it, a warning pops up: "this web page is trying to close your window and do strange things to your cat." and then you have to click a confirmation button.

Yeah, yeah, I know I can close the window three other ways, but for weak, idiosyncratic reasons would like to just click on that "close" button.

(why do I feel like"Monk" here...)
