I'm thinking of upgrading to the new Blackberry Pearl. Is their desktop software that syncs info (between my calendar, email, to-do's) compatible with the Mac, or will I need third party software?

is there any way to "sync" email between a mac and a treo or blackberry device? might it be as simple as configuring an IMAP account?

i don't want to manage my email remotely only to come into the office and have to do it all again. and if i send important email from the road, i want it in my "sent" folder on my desktop.

please say yes - i really want one of these babies.

My gf wants to buy a Blackberry. She knows zip about them and isn't that tech savvy. She's on a Windows machine at work and plans on getting a Mac for home in the future. I know lots about Palm devices but nothing about these things. What's all the advice you got on Blackberries? Models to avoid/ get, tricks to do with them, good sites w/ reviews, best places to buy, etc. Thanks!
