Basic Black Underwear

Basic black women's underwear. . . it shouldn't be this difficult to find, should it? I am in search of women's bikini panties. Black, no other colors. Cotton, maybe with a bit of stretchy stuff added, but none of this weird micromodal fabric because it makes me sweaty. The catch is that I'd like them to cost less than $5 a pair. And no silly brand names or logos on the waistband.

All my searching at local stores and googling has turned up stuff that is too lacy, thong-y, covered in logos, expensive, or is the wrong colors. If you know where to find what I'm looking for, please share.

Am I supposed to just avoid the beach in between waxes? That doesn't seem right.

It takes weeks for bikini line hair to grow long enough to wax, so what do you do if you frequently are going to the beach or pool during the summer? What do you do between waxes? Also, how do you manage unsightly bumps? I refuse to go to the beach with a hairy bikini line. But I am also just as self conscious if I shave and bumps and ingrown hairs appear.

I see many women on the beach who appear to not deal with this problem. How? I truly wonder.

My family has a beach house, and I love the beach, and I want to go as often as possible during the summer.

If I wax, in about 1.5 weeks, the hair is beginning to grow back. But it will take another two weeks for the hair to be long enough to successfully wax. So what, do I just not go back to the beach for that time?

If I shave, that delays the ability to wax. It is a quick fix, but often results in unsightly bumps and razor irritation. Plus, it makes the hair very course and who wants stubble? I don't want my inner thighs to double as sandpaper.

I welcome any and all knowledge on this subject.
What music video features bikini-clad women putting condiments on themselves?

Some time in the past year I saw a strange, but well shot music video that shows attractive women in bikinis eating and rubbing food and condiments on themselves. Who is this video by, and where can I find it? This video may have been accompanied by techno music, but I'm not sure. It was particularly striking because of the dissonance between the women's appearances and their behavior.

Fire down below!

I am a girl with incredibly sensitive skin. Help me stay free of rashes AND hair "down there"... or convince me it's not worth it (men, please reply). I've tried waxing. I've tried shaving. Epilator? Check. It doesn't seem to matter what method I use, I ALWAYS get a rash.

Sure, it looks good for about a day, or even a week. But my skin is insanely sensitive, and I inevitably get a horrible, painful, scary-looking rash, especially along the edges where my groin and my legs meet. These rashes last 3-7 days.

I have had two long-term relationships where the guy didn't care down about having hair down there, so cool, I trimmed it. I'm single. Every time I am single, I feel OBLIGATED to be hair-free. So I try, but no method seems to work AND be non-irritating.

So far I have tried all of the following:

1. Using a new razor and sensitive skin foam after a bath
2. Professional waxing
3. Home waxing
4. Plucking all the hair with a rounded set of tweezers to avoid wax irritation
5. Nair (dear god never again lol)
6. Electric razor
7. Tend Skin and variations of that stuff
8. Clear deodorant
9. Only wearing skirts/dresses, no tight pants
10. Only shaving in the direction the hair grows
11. Epilator (yes really)
12. Exfoliating the area by every means possible

I feel like I want to have sex in the future, hence the grooming. But I can't always predict when sex will happen! So, guys... if you were going to have sex with a girl and there was some razor burn, primarily obviously on the... um... edges, how grossed out would you be? What if the girl had an STD test and showed you she was disease free, would that reassure you? Is a little hair better than no hair at all and a few red bumps? Ugh I feel so undignified even asking this. Help.

This is embarassing as hell. Throwaway account: embarassingashell at gmail.

Let 'er rip! (But not too hard.)

I've decided to keep my cooch reasonably trimmed after a recent bikini wax, but I don't want to shave and I don't want to pay $30 every month. What can I do? I don't have anything complicated, just a regular wax that doesn't bush out from under a swimsuit. I am a bigger chick, and so certain parts chafe a bit. Neither I nor my partner really care about being all trimmed up, but I thought I'd try it for a while, especially since I want to swim more often and, um, get eaten out in a slightly neater fashion.

Has anybody done waxing or Nair or whatever at home? I'm used to the pain of a wax, but I've never done it myself and worry about doing it wrong and causing more trouble. (My last waxer was really overzealous, ow.) How often should I do this? What are the best ways to keep exfoliated and/or reduce ingrowns between removals? Yes, I know about Tend Skin or similar immediately afterwards to reduce bumps.

Anonymous because nobody needs to know how my girlparts are tended, thankyouverymuch.

Beach Volleyball Bikinis

Olympic beach volleyball uniforms: Why are the women wearing bikinis? I've been watching both men's and women's beach volleyball and can't for the life of me figure out the practicality of the women wearing the skimpy bikini outfits. As a woman who has worn a bikini or two at the beach, in the sand, I am looking at them and thinking it's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. I'm just imagining them spending hours digging sand out of the nooks and crannies after the matches, thinking about 'sand burns' and other various hazards from being barely covered.

If this is the optimal performance uniform, why are the men not shirtless and in Speedos? I have to wonder if the women are just flaunting their perfect bodies and 6-packs of abs and whether it's merely part of the beach culture rather than a requirement for the sport.

Best bikini clippers?

What's the best electric trimmer for the bikini area? I'm looking for affordable clippers for taming the public area. I don't want to shave it all off, I'm just looking for an easy way to trim the hair. I've seen this but it seems kind of expensive for what looks like a standard clipper with fancy packaging. Is there are less branded type you'd recommend that does the job without the risk of shaving it all off or (gasp) injury?

I NEEEEEEEEEEED this bikini!

I switched on the TV one day last week and happened to catch a bit of The Biggest Loser. Ever since, I have been obsessing over this pink bikini. This was in the 5th episode of the current season. Does anyone recognise this bikini? Seen something similar?

I copied the pic linked to above onto my PDA and showed it to a salesgirl in a swimwear shop, and she said she'd not seen anything like it and it may not even be available here in Australia.

I prefer to buy clothes from a shop where I can actually go try stuff on first, but if I could find that particular bikini online, I'd be ecstatic.

"The Girl in the Turquiose Bikini"

I'm reading "The Girl in the Turquoise Bikini" (1961) and I'm puzzled by a reference to "organizing a 'Paul Jones,' " which seems to be some kind of discussion group or meeting, for example between social or ethnic groups. Flaky as it sounds from its title, this book was made into the movie "How Sweet it Is" (1968) with James Garner and Debby Reynolds, and seems to have been well-received, or at least good enough for the 60's. The author, Muriel Resnik, had some cred as a playwright, screenwriter, and author of other novels.

Any idea what's a "Paul Jones" and why we don't have them anymore?

Bikini wax question...problematic girly bits

I love the feeling of a cool breeze in the nether regions. I've been thinking of getting a Brazilian bikini wax, but I have some concerns specific to my anatomy. Can you help me out? I've waxed my armpits for years, so I know about the pain. That doesn't worry me at all. Shot of whisky, preemptive analgesic and all's as well as it can be.

Here's my concern: my pubic hair grows inside the labia majora, in the area of the vulva that's kind of a transition between skin and the mucous membrane of the vagina. The pink parts, shall we say? The pubic hair doesn't grow all the way up to my vaginal entrance or anything, but there's definitely hair growth around the edges that seems like it would be hard to remove. Maybe 1/4 of an inch. Especially prominent is the hair in the internal area above the clitoris. I hope I'm doing the description justice and you can picture what I mean.

When I've shaved, I've felt too chicken to try to shave inside the lips to get that internal edge hair. Like I said, the thickest part is nearest the clit. However, it seems to kind of defeat the hair-removal process if you can't get that part. When I've trimmed with clippers (my usual method), I feel comfortable enough that I won't rip/cut anything off, but the result is hair that's pointy and uncomfortable, and really irritates that above-the-clit-but-still-internal region.

The question: Will this internal-ish hair cause problems if I get a brazilian bikini wax? Will the waxist (what do you call this person?) have to avoid the area entirely?

More information: My pubic hair is definitely dark, coarse and curly. When I've waxed the bikini line (just around the very edges), I've had some problems with ingrown hairs, despite diligent exfoliation. My labia minora barely exist (are tiny and only visible if parting the outer lips), and so wouldn't really factor in to the logistics of waxing.

I know I can't be the only woman with this particular genital configuration, so I'm hoping someone else can help me understand what I could be in for. Anecdotes are welcome.

justnowanonymous@gmail.com is a way to contact me if you don't want to let it all hang out in public, so to speak. :-)

Where to find a special bikini?

Where to buy a bikini that features the Atlanta Braves? The best example I can offer is that I want it to be similar to this one featured in the movie Anger Management. I had a dog costume made from someone off eBay and I figured there would be something like this for human clothing but I can't seem to find anything. The closest thing I have found is that there is a lot of Red Sox and Yankees lingerie but nothing close to what I am looking for.

Bikinis for D-cups

Any recommendations of brands/stores that carry bikinis that work for large-breasted women? I've never worn a bikini before. I'm of average height and weight but I'm also fairly busty (D-cups). I've shied away from this summer fashion because I haven't see any bikinis that would l think would be flattering on me (all bikinis I've seen are modeled on small-chested women). I'm looking for both support and some amount of coverage (ie, not popping out) but I don't know where to begin my search. Any hints?
