Cycling computer - I recently started cycling (road biking) and have slowly been gearing up. I usually use RunKeeper, an iPhone app, while I ride to track info, but it's useless during the ride since it's in my back shirt pocket. I'm looking for a traditional bike computer to look at while I ride. I'd like the wireless kind, since my wife swears by her's. What are your suggestions?

I'm looking for a holiday destination. Last weeks of October where I can hike (mountains), bike (atb) and learn diving (padi). No resorts or too much luxury, just basic accomodation. I'm alone so it would be nice to meet more travellers.
Doe you have suggestions?

Women cyclists-----can you recommend some cute and comfortable biking tops?
I bike with a friend a few times a week for exercise doing hills and paths in our town and would like some tops that feel good and look good. I also do errands on my bike from time to time.
I have black padded shorts and need some tops that will inspire me to get out and ride.
Any recommendations for summer tops and if you have ideas for fall biking clothes I would be interested in that too!
Thank you!

I recently started working from home, so I no longer have my daily bike commute to the office. Looking for some advice on the following:
- Ideal time(s) of day for a nice distance ride with less traffic.
- Good routes for a distance ride in Chicago.
- Good destination points. Perhaps a nice place to work with a laptop(bonus for free Wi-Fi connections). Also, I tend to like independent cafes/restaurants rather than places like Cosi or Starbucks.
- Any other thoughts/advice you have.
I'm flexible with distance, though I'd prefer 5+ miles. I'm starting out from my apartment in Humboldt Park if that helps any.
Thanks AskMeFi!!

I'm a girl who (after working her way up to it for a few weeks) has been biking about 10 miles per trip about 2 or 3 times per week for about 3 weeks now on a bike that is similar to the Electra Amsterdam Sport
here. I feel great, except that my butt hurts. We tried adjusting the seat higher, and that didn't help, so we moved it back down. We tried moving the back of the seat higher (so it sort of looked like this from the side >), and that was noticably bad, so we moved the front of the seat higher ( < )and that helped a little. But, my butt still hurts.

I've put on 20 pounds since I started my full-time desk job a year ago, and the time has come to get myself back in to shape. Research has brought me two preferable possibilities: a few days a week, either start taking Krav Maga classes (during my lunch break), or start commuting to work by bike instead of driving (15 miles each way). I have no experience with either, live in Boston, work north of Boston. Help me pick the right path.

As wetter weather descends upon Oregon, I'm on the hunt for fenders for my Surly Karate Monkey. I'm running Schwalbe Big Apples for commuting. The Monkey is a 29er and these tires take up a lot of space! I need to find fenders that'll fit. What fender solution has worked for your 29er/Big Apple setup?

I'm going to be at U Colorado in Boulder for the summer and I'm interested in buying a bike. I'm willing to spend about $200 on a new one (which I'll take back to my school after the summer) and I'd preferably like a city bike that I can also occasionally take off-road. Since I got my last bike when I was in middle school (I'm 20 now), I wanted to see if anyone could offer advice or a guide on buying a new one.

Is a carbon fiber road frame worth the extra expense? I mean I've read loads of pros and cons but does it come down to a slight difference or a major one? I love to go on 15-30 mile rides but I'd like to increase my comfort levels (got a proper fitting and new seat/post so far).

I'd like to bike around the Manhattan waterfront, starting and ending at the GWB, using the
official greenway path (pdf). My question is about those sections in red and blue: will I be biking through traffic? Having never ridden a bike through NYC traffic, am I putting myself in danger? How long would the entire thing take? Related question: has anyone ridden a bike across the GWB recently?
It's legal, though they make it sound like it's teeming with pedestrian.
