Salt Lake City trails and biking. This is a two part question- calling all cyclists/runnings in SLC, Utah- where are your favorite loops to cycle in the summer? I enjoy City Creek and biking through the avenues, but I feel like I am missing some good areas. Second question is about trail running. [more inside]
I've caught the mountain biking bug and was out riding this weekend. On one of the more advanced drops I took a bit of a scary tumble and ended up pretty scraped up. One section of my leg has the top layer of skin completely scraped off. What I'm wondering is the best (and fastest) way to help my scrapes heal with minimal scarring. Does anybody have any tips? What is the best bike route to get from North Brooklyn to Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY? I'm trying to plan a trip and I'm not sure I trust google maps' bike route feature yet, and ridethecity.com doesnt go outside of the city limits. I'm looking for the safest route possible, but I also wouldnt mind going a little out of the way for a more scenic ride.

My organization is interested in providing a small fleet of bicycles for employees to use for meetings, workday errands, etc. The only reason *not* to do this that comes to mind is liability—although we could provide waivers, right? One way or the other, I haven't yet found examples of other companies doing this. What do you know about it?

I'm fairly new to the mountain bike game and unfortunately I am having to park my mountain bike for three months whilst I work away. Security is not an issue but in general what maintenance and precautions do I need to take, if any, before it goes away? FYI: I have a 2008 Kona Cinder Cone (linky) and the bike is currently in a reasonably clean state (but not spotless).

Cycling computer - I recently started cycling (road biking) and have slowly been gearing up. I usually use RunKeeper, an iPhone app, while I ride to track info, but it's useless during the ride since it's in my back shirt pocket. I'm looking for a traditional bike computer to look at while I ride. I'd like the wireless kind, since my wife swears by her's. What are your suggestions?

Women cyclists-----can you recommend some cute and comfortable biking tops? I bike with a friend a few times a week for exercise doing hills and paths in our town and would like some tops that feel good and look good. I also do errands on my bike from time to time. I have black padded shorts and need some tops that will inspire me to get out and ride. Any recommendations for summer tops and if you have ideas for fall biking clothes I would be interested in that too! Thank you!
I recently started working from home, so I no longer have my daily bike commute to the office. Looking for some advice on the following: - Ideal time(s) of day for a nice distance ride with less traffic. - Good routes for a distance ride in Chicago. - Good destination points. Perhaps a nice place to work with a laptop(bonus for free Wi-Fi connections). Also, I tend to like independent cafes/restaurants rather than places like Cosi or Starbucks. - Any other thoughts/advice you have. I'm flexible with distance, though I'd prefer 5+ miles. I'm starting out from my apartment in Humboldt Park if that helps any. Thanks AskMeFi!!
I'm a girl who (after working her way up to it for a few weeks) has been biking about 10 miles per trip about 2 or 3 times per week for about 3 weeks now on a bike that is similar to the Electra Amsterdam Sport here. I feel great, except that my butt hurts. We tried adjusting the seat higher, and that didn't help, so we moved it back down. We tried moving the back of the seat higher (so it sort of looked like this from the side >), and that was noticably bad, so we moved the front of the seat higher ( < )and that helped a little. But, my butt still hurts. [more inside]

I've put on 20 pounds since I started my full-time desk job a year ago, and the time has come to get myself back in to shape. Research has brought me two preferable possibilities: a few days a week, either start taking Krav Maga classes (during my lunch break), or start commuting to work by bike instead of driving (15 miles each way). I have no experience with either, live in Boston, work north of Boston. Help me pick the right path. [more inside]
