I put together my new bike, a Nirve single speed cruiser, this weekend and, like an idiot, did not grease the seatpost before installing it (it was already quasi-slimy and I thought that was enough). Guess what happened? It's completely stuck and I'd kind of like to get it out. [more inside]

I'm changing my commute from a one mile drive/ride to an eight mile drive/ride. I'm in terrible shape (good cardio, really, but wwwwaaaaayyyyy too heavy), but want to be able to bike a few days a week to the new office. My boyfriend and I spent a lovely afternoon this Christmas riding around his old neighborhood on his mom and stepdad's bikes, and would now like bikes of our own. We'd basically just be riding around the neighborhood or occasionally on bike trails, and would like to spend under $250 each, if possible. Any recommendations? [more inside]

Looking for information about either the Raleigh Woman’s Retroglide NX3 or Coasting Bike. I haven’t ridden in oh, nearly 30 years. And this is the sort of bike that I’d be most comfortable on, I believe. This is for going to the grocery store, library, mail box, possibly on paved trails through the local nature center. I’m perfectly willing to spend the money on something that will last, but would love to know if anyone else has purchased either model and what they thought of it. [more inside]
