HELP ME get off of google I am addicted to google services: from gmail to igoogle, from google bookmarks to google reader to documents i am increasingly of the opinion that big brother is upon us and he has googly eyes i like the ease of use, and I am not terribly sophisticated at computer use, but can someone suggest step by step ways to rid myself of google?

Longshot filter: Sometime in the mid-90s, Big Brother magazine ran a photo of a male skateboarder sitting on a bench or concrete wall, skateboard in hand, and a female next to him, kissing him on his cheek. Is this photo online? [more inside]

What is it with the British and big brother? I've seen countless pieces of British that have to do with Big Brother. It really seems like a very British theme. TV shows like the Prisoner, comic books like Braintax's Futureghost, books like 1984 (british right?) all seem to hold to this. Am I right in thinking that it is a predominately a British theme? If it is, why? Also what good/popular British media deal with this subject? [more inside]
