I'm heading to Seattle next weekend and would like to spend at least part of the time checking out the local pub scene and sampling some tasty Seattle brews. I am staying near the intersection of Madison St. and Boren Ave.; can any Seattle-based MeFites recommend any not-to-be-missed microbreweries or anything or that ilk in the general area?

Where can I buy Astra Beer
in NYC? I'm sure it's available somewhere, but basic Googling hasn't turned up a specific store that has it. Before I start to make the rounds of all the beer stores in the area, I'd welcome suggestions of specific stores that are known to have it. Danke!

I moved to the Bay Area recently (San Mateo) and one of the things I've missed most from Chicago has been the amazing beer selection I was able to find at the local liquor chain Binny's. I've tried a couple of BevMo's and some smaller momandpop type places but I've yet to find a place with 4 rows of different beer plus coolers etc. which I could find in Chicago. I miss my selection! Does a place like this exist? Is there a secret bottle shop that I don't know about? Let me know where I can get my beer selection on!

My wife wants to bring an American craft beer to a former colleague who is primarily a real ale drinker in the UK. He is pretty game to try anything (and is more of a hophead than I am) and we would like to get him something he can't get there and that is a bit different (so no American Belgians for instance) but also worth the hassle. What should we get?
We are in Chicago and probably have to get it from Binnys.

I need a bar or restaurant for a small group on Sunday. One of our group however, is my puppy.
Another requirement is that it is near the N train, or a quick transfer from the N train on this Sunday (are they still randomly shutting down the 7 train over the weekend?). Beyond that, it's not too picky. I know about the Bohemian Beer Garden, but I am not sure that they allow pets. Sidewalk cafes, anything outdoors should be great.

I’m organizing an event in early July and I need help figuring out the easiest way to provide five meals to 70 to 90 people at a campground.
Our location is booked- it’s a great campground with showers and bathrooms and a pavilion and a fire pit. Our planning is moving along nicely, but but as with previous years, food is the challenge. Details follow: [more inside]

I have a growler from Pyramid breweries with a plastic screw top. I bought it because I figured I'd be able to fill it up all the time. Unfortunately, I just got off the phone with Stone Brewery in Pasadena and they won't fill my growler because it's a plastic screw top (must be a flip top) and because it has a different companies logo on it (though they said I could scrape it off, which I don't mind). Any other ideas for where I could fill my growler for a party tonight?

I'm heading to Portland in July (hooray!) and am already ecstatically excited about all the awesome things there are to indulge in (kind of feel like this city is where I was supposed to live - too bad I live many timezones away). The town is overrun with amazing breweries and my partner who is joining me is a massive
beer geek. We're already planning on visting as many breweries as we can and the Oregon Brewfest is on while we're there (double hooray!). However, I'd like to surprise him with the best beer related activity, event, or venue Portland has to offer (which is also acting as a consolation prize as I nixed the idea of staying at the Bed 'n' Beer in Newport).
Ideas, suggestions, advice? I know there are a lot of Portland Mefites with wonderful taste - so I'd love any help! [more inside]

After trying Coors Banquet Beer
purchased at a grocery store in Colorado, I have a strange and growing craving to drink this supremely yeasty beverage again. However, I'm having trouble locating it (tried Fairway UES and Whole Foods Union Square so far). I checked the Coors website locator, but it gives me locations that sell ALL kinds of Coors, which is not helpful.

I'm the kind of person who gets worried enough they'll do their work not well, or make a mistake, that they end up either not starting or working too slowly and filled with dread.
Last week, I had to work late on a project. I had two beers in the process, found I cared less about the anxiety and dread and perfectionism, and just did a better, less stressful job. I want to do this without drinking. [more inside]

Where in the SF Bay Area (including the South Bay) can I find Pliny the Elder on tap?
I know about Bobby G's in Berkeley, but they've been out of it the last few times I've gone. (Is there a particular day of the week when you have to go?)
I also know about this list

I'd like to go to a beer bar in Manhattan this weekend. I've always liked Zum Schneider but want to try some place different. Prefer a place that's typically not too crowded on a Saturday around 6pm (that seems early enough to avoid crowds, right?); quiet enough to talk; and ideally, which also has good food. Thanks!

Besides skiing, of course. I think myself and Ms Jo will be in Denver area for 4 days or so within the next two weeks. We may ski one day, but prefer just being out of doors and walking and hiking. Is this too crazy given the season? I would love to go to a hot springs but the closest one looks kinda cheesy/expensive. We will have a car. I like beer. Suggestions for activities and accommodations are welcome.
Basically, I am looking for a non-ski reason to go Denver area this month for 3 or 4 days. If the answer is to come back later (during brew fest and better hiking weather, so be it).

I think I'll buy 500 bottles just in case! I have tried contacting them through their website with no luck! This stuff is vital in keeping my husbands weight at a steady number as well.
