I have long, fine, mostly straight (female) hair that becomes dry, limp and majorly staticky during East Coast winters. My normal hair routine involves moisturizing shampoo, conditioner at the tips, volumizing mousse when my hair is wet, and blow drying upside down with a bristly brush. Sometimes I use some light hairspray to keep it in place. Initially it looks and feels great. But by the end of the day, it is totally dead and full of static. I keep a dryer sheet in my bag to smooth out the static throughout the day but this isn't much of a long-term solution and it doesn't fix the limpness. Advise me please? Any product suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Yikes! Nearly every 'healthy' cosmetic brand has
toxic waste in it! Here I thought using Burt's Bees was good for unicorns and everything, apparently they have issues too! So does the Body Shop - badly.
Search the database... Anyone have a good, healthy brand line? Please no "Stop Using." Try telling that to a 13 year old who just got permission.

I’m considering getting my ears pierced. Just regular old lobe piercings. Help me decide if I should, then help answer all the probably simple questions about the process, because I seriously know nothing. Before you bring it up – I’m planning on going to a real piercing place, not Claire’s.

Plastic-free beauty filter: I'm researching how to diminish the amount of plastic I am using from day to day, and I'm about to attack my personal-care items. Does anyone have suggestions for shampoos, deodorants, face washes, lotions, toothpastes, etc., that don't come packed in plastic containers? I'm interested in commercially available stuff and also recipes I can make at home if the components aren't too plastic-y.

How can I look 32 when I am actually 37? I am MALE and about to go on a bunch of interviews for a job where the ideal entry age is 32 in an industry that is *very* age conscious and age discriminatory (it's TV staff writing, fyi). I am 37 and want to register more like 32/33 when I walk into the room... can anyone suggest a comprehensive "look 5 years younger" makeover?

People who are rich (or comfortable) usually have nice skin texture, look polished and generally look smooth. People who live poor tend to have rougher skin, and look a bit less smooth.
What are the richer people doing to their skin/face to get this look? What high end brands are they buying?

I recently saw an article by some docs on Oprah that give recommendations about taking care of your skin at certain ages.
It says that in your forties and fifties most people need Renova or retinol.
I have mild rosacea and dry fair skin and am 48.
Do you think I should see a dermatologist to get a prescription or just use an over the counter product with retinol.
I do not want to waste my money on an over the counter product if my 48 year old skin would benefit by the prescription.
I have lines and dullish dry skin with a few age spots.
Thanks.
