Someone in a neighborhood near mine is growing Castor Bean plants in their front yard. I had always thought of Castor Beans as a waste plant that grew up, unwanted, in disturbed areas. Owing to its toxic nature I thought it a strange choice for a carefully planted yard. Are castor beans more common in landscaping than I thought?

I've been introduced to Trader Joe's Spicy Black Bean Dip and I absolutely love it; problem is that I live in Canada and can't buy it!
So, I've decided the best alternative is to make it. Does any one have a recipe for it? The ingredients (in order) are: Black Beans, Water, Tomato Paste, Onions, Distilled Vinegar (From Corn), Honey, Salt, Jalapenos, Spices, Garlic.
