Is there a way to reuse an apple powerbook g4 battery to power a macbook pro? I know that it doesn't fit, but I'm hoping there is some kind of external pack that can accept and charge a powerbook battery but which can power a macbook pro. Any ideas?

The battery in my IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad Z60t went out of warranty 4/29/07. When I woke up today, the machine says "Irreparable damage to the battery has been detected. Replace the battery with a new one." Is it really damaged? Could it be a broken sensor? Some kind of software glitch? Is this typical? Is there a better alternative to the
$159 replacement?

My year-old Powerbook G4 has acquired the habit of suddenly shutting off when it thinks it has no more power, which usually happens when the menubar item says the battery is around 30% full. Do I need a new battery? Or can I massage it into the proper sleeping/hibernating behavior somehow?

Where should I buy a battery for a 2-year-old cell phone? My LG VX6100 is down to 48 hours of standby time, and I'd prefer not to get a new phone (and renew my cell carrier contract) right now. But a compatible battery does not seem to be available from a small handful of trustworthy sources, only from dozens of anonymous cell phone accessory stores. I'm wary of lousy or simply fake cell phone battery stores selling refurbished or used batteries as if they were new. Does anyone know of any reputable sources of new cell phone batteries for old phones?

On a device with 2 batteries, say for an example, a remote control with 2 AA batteries, the instructions for the device say, when the time comes, to replace both batteries, not just one. As if replacing one battery, while it will supply enough energy to run the device, will somehow damage the device. Is this just a ruse to sell more batteries?

My iBook G4 has lately been winking out, for no apparent reason, as I'm in the middle of something (I have to reset the date each time, among other things).
The weird thing is that it only seems to happen when I'm on battery power. When I press the little button on the bottom, it seems to indicate full power. However, I was noticing a month or so ago I was getting weird battery warnings -- saying it was almost out of power, when it said there was 41% power remaining, etc.
Has anyone had this problem, and might a new battery somehow be the solution?

When trying to change the batteries in my maglite after a long period of neglect, I found that the cap wouldn't unscrew. After persuading it open with a pair of mol-grips, I could see that one of the batteries had leaked and there was a big grey corroded-looking stain on the inside of the battery compartment. Is there any way I can clean this up, or should I bid farewell to my trusty torch? The battery is a D cell alkaline.

Power Inverters for cars -
the thing you plug into your cigarette lighter, with a regular wall-plug on the other end. I bought one last night, for use with gadgets on a road trip. Thing is, they offer two types, excuse the B-st B-y links:
this one (95W), which I bought, and a stronger one (150W)
here - Question is, I went with the smaller cheaper one but I know nothing about power use for things. Should I return it for the larger, or is this sufficient power to charge a laptop, camera, PSP, ipod, etc? Mostly concerned with safety to equipment and car's electrical system. THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE.
