Is my ipad2 up to the job? I have to give the same hour-long presentation in three separate sessions in one day. I am planning to use Keynote on my ipad2 attached to a projector but I'm worried about battery life on the iPad. Does anybody have experience using their iPad in this way? I will of course, turn off every battery draining thing I can find. I could also switch to my iPhone 4S if I had to, I guess. Will I be okay for three presentations?

I'm trying to resurrect an old Casio CPS-85 88 key keyboard. When it was given to me, the power jack was cracked, so I desoldered it and soldered on a new one. No luck; I can't get power (even with a different power supply). So I'm stuck running off of a lot of D batteries. As using D cells is both wasteful and expensive.is there any way for me to rig an external power supply to the battery terminals in a safe manner?
Follow up to previous question....4yo Dell Inspiron laptop suddenly giving me the old "Plugged in but not charging" routine. Froze the battery for a day but no luck. So I bought a nice new one from Amazon that charged right up and worked for a week. No this one is giving me the same message. Any ideas? Or a place to turn to troubleshoot things? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm travelling on my Scooter about 1,200 kms (800 miles) over two days. Is there a way I can hitch up a 12 volt (car) or 5 volt USB charger to keep my Smartphone topped up while on the road and using power hungry apps? There is no 12v charger available, although there is adequate space under the saddle to store a work around. [more inside]
Is this laptop battery a ripoff, and how can I be sure? I bought a third party battery for my Macbook. It looks like the original 45Wh battery, but Coconut Battery (and the appropriate ioreg command) report the 'design capacity' as lower than it should be. [more inside]
I have a 1979 Ford F100, which once belonged to my father. Since he passed away, it's served as a backup vehicle for an array of relatives, and now it's my turn. Yesterday, I got into the truck and turned the key, and I heard a single "clunk" (not a click-click-click), as if something started moving and then froze up. I tried again, with the same result. The next time, I got a kind of whirring sound, like something spinning free. It's a continuous whirring, rather than a series of attempts to catch. Lights and radio work fine. Jumping it didn't help. I didn't try to roll it off, because I'm loathe to leave it at the bottom of the hill in my slighty sketchy neighborhood; I'll probably try that this weekend, when I can get some help. The battery is relatively new. It started easily up until yesterday. [more inside]
Seattle area telecom: Can anyone suggest a battery distributor/warehouse that stocks deep cycle lead acid batteries of the type suitable for a DC UPS? Shipping costs on these are very high so we would prefer to buy from a dealer somewhere along I-5 in the area from Bellingham to Olympia. I fell asleep a few nights in a row with my Macbook running on battery. I never did this before and now the laptop crashes erratically whenever running on battery, even when mostly at full charge. I assume the events are related, and that this may be analogous to driving your car until it runs out of gas: bad for the car. Advice? Did I ruin my battery? Is there a fix I'm overlooking?

I used to have a Sonic Impact T-Amp. It was incredible - a great-sounding battery-powered amp with an input for iPod/CD that could drive big speakers at volume. Mine broke and I think I might have thrown it away, which I regret. But in the meantime, is there something similar on the market? A small, great battery-powered amp? I'm based in the UK but would order from the States if needed.

Do you trust third-party batteries for your cellphone? Specifically I'm thinking about picking up some spare batteries for the HTC Evo, but I've been a non-removable battery phone user for so long that I don't know if I really should stick to the manufacturer's branded batteries or can safely save some money and look elsewhere (like a Seidio, for example).
