My house came with a plug like this
. A few weeks back my wife unscrewed it to remove some hair and now it won't go back. It won't screw to the threads in the drain
It seems like the drain threads are slightly larger than the one in the plug. Maybe some adapter was there that fell into the drain? No idea.
I bought another plug from Lowes that looked slightly larger, but it didn't thread. How can I fix this without getting a plumber to visit?

So, every time I go looking for recommendations for makeup, etc. (here, and Makeup Alley, mostly), the majority of highly rated items are US products that are usually impossible or expensive for me to get, which is why I'd like your tips for your top-rated favorite bath and beauty items made-locally / available in Europe at reasonable cost. Maybe I can replace a few things, and find some new gems. [more inside]

I tried my first bath bomb/epsom salt mix a few days back and I loved it, but I wanted more
. I want my tub to temporarly become a high powered jacuzzi. Where can I find ( or how can I make) the most aggressive, bubbly, foamy, churningly tingly bath time additive?

I'm cheerfully ensconced in a dorm room with its own bath. Yay! But it's one of those showers that just sits off in the corner of a tiny stall, with no real separation from the rest of the wash area. Ergo, water everywhere! So where on earth
(OK, in London) can a traveling American get a cheap bath rug? If it helps, I'm right next to Victoria Station. Assume that I can navigate the Tube just fine (but would really prefer not to wander all of London looking for a cheap bath rug).

My Mom used to love using bath beads, but we haven't been able to find them for ages (We used to get them at a little red shop instead of a bigger store; I think it was a body shop inside of a Sears or Bay or something like that?) Anyway, I figured I would get her some for mother's day. This is turning out to be a lot more challenging than I anticipated. [more inside]

My cat, Gem
, got into her first fight today. Heard some screeching, saw her getting chased, but managed to get back home. She doesn't appear to be hurt, just a bit roughed up and shaky. Thing is though, she smells of poo now. Do I give her a bath, and if so, how? [more inside]

I've been looking for info on showering/bathing in relation to sweating and whether it's sanitary or not. I can only seem to find articles that basically say "yeah, you need to shower cause you'll smell" but can't find anything that confirms whether or not it's actually sanitary or not e.g. infections. What do ya'll think/know? [more inside]

- I live in an apartment and the water heater does not give an entire 40g of hot water [the capacity of the water heater and approximate capacity of the tub].
- I would like to relax in the bath for at least 20 minutes or more.
- I've tried boiling water, aquarium heater [fail, takes to long to heat], basalt stones [too small to matter].
Do you have any ideas for lengthening my bath time? My water goes lukewarm after ten minutes, almost chilly.

I'm renovating my bathroom, and want a hand shower mounted in the tile of the batch enclosure, on a hose, like in this image
But it seems like water can get into the hose hole and then collect under the bath. There will be a shower over the bath, although at the other end of the bath to the handheld. My plumber is a bit worried about how to waterproof it. How are these type of retractable hand showers normally waterproofed?

Our new home came with a wonderful bath tub jacuzzi but with a nasty problem. When we fill the tub up with water and turn on the air jets all this nasty gunk and junk comes out of the tubes and makes the water disgusting. Is there a way to clean this out or to flush the pipes? I've tried running the jets and cleaning them out around 15 times and this crud still comes out.

We're re-doing our old (master) bathroom. It's small-ish, not that that's here nor there. This weekend we need to pick out tile for the bath, light fixtures, vanity, and paint for the walls and ceiling. I have some design skills but am finding myself bereft of inspiration. Any good sites out there focusing on cool interior (esp. bathroom) design?

I'm thinking about selling (or renting) my condo. My kitchen and bathrooms are out of date with formica counter tops, old looking appliances and ugly flooring. I know that other condos in my complex that are on the market have been updated with more contemporary looks, but they also look like they've been on the market for a while. What would cause the place to sell faster? Spending the money to update it or reducing the asking price by whatever amount I'd put into a remodel?
