What are your favorite ABM resources?

Looking for the best resources for learning about agent-based modeling and social science simulation. What are your favorite resources (online or offline, though online would be a nice start) for agent-based modeling and social science simulation? I have a small amount of experience with C++ (and Pascal way back in high school), though it was over 10 years ago when I took the classes, but I'm comfortable with the idea of programming. I'm comfortable with learning a new programming language but want to maximize my efforts.

Googling has produced a number of results but I'm curious if anyone feels there are especially good resources out there. Syllabi would even be nice if they include readings as well as "labs" that I could use as practice.

There's no great urgency for learning this; I'm merely trying to acquire it as a skill before I finish graduate school.

Web based file management

I need suggestions for a web based file management solution I do not care if I have to pay for the software but would obviously like to minimize the cost. If I do have to pay I'd like for someone else to host it.

If i host it myself I would probably go with PHPfileNavigator2 as it meets most of my requirements (see below). Anyone have any experience with it?

Requirements
1) Multi-user (unlimited preferably)
2) Robust access controls (user, groups, folders, files, etc)
3) Secure
4) Robust search that includes ability to add comments (or tags or whatever) to files and search through those as well

Online password storage, crazy or stupid?

Where can I store my passwords online safely? 95% of the places I need passwords are on the web, so it is the most practical solution for me. Additionally I frequently find myself on different OSes and computers that are not mine.

Agatra seems to be what I want but I only know what I read in the FAQ. I found them through a Google search so I really don't know anything about them.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Is anyone else doing this? Am I crazy or stupid for thinking about trying this? How much trouble would I be in if the password site was compromised? I assume they would be storing my passwords as hashes (or whatever) so I wouldn't be too exposed if they were compromised (again assuming they are actually doing what they claim).

Looking for website chat client

I run a web design company, and want to set up a website based chat client so I can see when someone is perusing my site and pop up a chat window to help them with any questions... My hosting service offers this service now. Problem is the free version is quite limited and the pay version is $10/month. I probably would pay for this, but I don't see why it needs to be a pay per month expense, as opposed to a one-time fee or free software install.

So I've searched the web and the only other one I've found to do what I am looking for, is http://www.boldchat.com/ But I run into the same problems, the free version is too limited and the pay service is minimum $30/month. Anybody know of a free version that I can customize and host on my own server? Or even a purchasable version that I can customize and host myself?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

PS Not looking for an embedded IM client or chat room. Looking for personal chat client that will pop up on an end users computer screen w/o the need of any downloads, for product based support.

PHP:or:Ruby Webmail program I can hack?

I'm looking for some sort of Web-Based-Mail system that I can install on my server that I would be able to interface through PHP or Ruby. Specifically, I'd like to build a little web-based application that I can use to catalog my day-to-day business communications. I'd record phone calls and faxes by hand, but have all of my email automagically loaded into the system by interfacing with this webmail program.

I am NOT looking for "just do it in outlook" responses, First, I don't trust MS Products' stability with my business data, Second, I'm planning on building on tools such as billing, budget, etc...

TIA!
