I am in my mid-twenties and, after being in relationships almost continuously since high school, I am finally single and ready to start dating around. I want to start meeting people and maybe have a few one-night stands, because why not? I am a little unfamiliar with how to meet strangers. The discussion came up with some of my friends about wingmaning.

Looking for Chicagoland bars that aren't sad. I live in Lombard, in the Western suburbs of Chicago, and my gentleman friend lives in Hillside, and all the bars around me seem to be for sad people and/or older people. I have a date (well, sort of) coming up, and I want to find bars that are geared towards young 20-somethings that I do not have to take the Metra to get to.

I want to meet guys in bars, and not for a one night stand. I'm a girl. Is this even possible?

My best gal pals and I are heading up to Manhattan for a weekend soon, and we're looking for an excuse to dress to the nines while enjoying a cocktail or two. Whenever we go out as a group, though, we tend to split up and mingle (and, ok, flirt). Of note: we range 31 to 38 in ages, so we're not looking for some barely-legal hipster club scene. What's a good, upscale but sociable, fun but not crazy loud night spot to visit on a Saturday in Manhattan? Does it exist?

Pulling girls in bars: how do you do it? I don't think I know how. The two or three times I have they've kissed me first. I'm more used to getting into relationships - sometimes even just asking "can I kiss you? I think you're lovely" after a date - but want some of the late-night stranger-kissing that all the bar guys get. How do you turn cheery bar conversation into cheery bar smooching?
