I'm in Barcelona with a friend. We've spent two pleasant days wandering around and seeing the sights, and we'd be happy to keep doing that, but tomorrow the weather is forecast to be wet. No problem, we'll go to some museums! But tomorrow is Monday, and most of the museums are shut... What can we do instead? [more inside]
If you were driving from Paris to Barcelona next spring and had two nights to stay along the way, where would you stay and why? Indirect routes are ok but you also want to break up the trip so you aren't doing more than six hours of driving in one day. [more inside]
I'm going to Barcelona next week on a business trip, and I'd love to buy my wife some nice shirts, possibly some jewellery as well. Also some cute baby stuff for my son would be nice. [more inside]
My sister is travelling to Barcelona, Spain in November. She'll be at a hotel on the Plaza Catalunya for 3 days before leaving on a cruise ship. Sadly, she's on oxygen 24/7 and will be using a walker for short distances and an electric scooter to tour around the city. She'd like recommendations for food and must-see attractions within scootering distance. We've collected info from Google travel results, but they don't address accessibility concerns She plans to go to the Dali museum on a day trip, but other suggestions would be wonderful.
We're staying for four nights in Barcelona in mid September. First visit for both of us. Really would appreciate hotel/B&B recommendations, and of course what sights and restaurants the hive mind recommends.
How far in advance is it decided whether a La Liga (Spain) game will be played on Saturday or Sunday? [more inside]
Barcelona --> Girona We're picking up a rental car at noon in Barcelona in order to drive to Girona for dinner at 9pm. Any suggestions for routes to take? Or stops along the way? Is there anything significant or beautiful that we should see along the way? Or is it worth taking a longer route in order to visit a town or site? As long as we make it to Girona for our 9:00pm dinner reservation, we're open to any suggestions you might have.
Simple question: Where do we need to eat and sleep in Madrid and Barcelona? We are planning a summer trip to Spain (4 nights in Madrid, 2 nights in Barcelona, 1 night in Girona). The Girona portion of the trip is set -- dinner at El Celler de Can Roca for an extravagant birthday experience. What we need are suggestions for restaurants and hotels in Madrid and Barcelona. (We're also planning day trips to Segovia and Toledo, so you could include lunch spots in those places if you'd like.) A few notes: we are fairly sophisticated dinners, but we also love simple, straightforward food-of-the-people. Our hotel tastes run toward contemporary/modern, but we're not opposed to something classic -- we just want to avoid international chains. Thanks for any/all suggestions!
