When I search for something by typing keywords into the Firefox address bar, it directs me to Yahoo search results. It used to function more like Google's "I'm feeling lucky" option, and I'd like to get that functionality back instead of these incessant Yahoo search results.

Can anyone recommend good clubs in Japan (especially Tokyo) that play music that would appeal to your typical
Pitchfork reader? I'm thinking along the lines of indie electro/pop/rock music, a bit of hip hop in there, and maybe some older favourites.

I'm throwing a New Year's Eve party in NYC this year. To try and address some of the complaints from last year, we've added an extra bar, currently described to guests as a "mystery bar" as we were still deciding what to serve at this "side" bar.

I'm looking for an excellent jazz/blues/blues-rock bar in Philly. Grizzled old guys on their guitars, grizzled old patrons, bad lighting, laid-back bartenders and a relaxed atmosphere with a little bit of room to sway if you're feeling it. If you've ever been to the Cat's Eye Pub in Baltimore, something like that.

I'm going to Wootstock in San Francisco on Tuesday night, and will be craving a gin and tonic afterward - specifically Junipero, because of
this thread.
So, at the risk of turning MeFi into a gin palace: can anyone recommend a nice bar near the Swedish American Hall that serves a mean Junipero and tonic?

Tangentially college sports-related food/drink question: At your school, was there a bar or restaurant where fans of your rival team would congregate? What I'm after is analogous to, say, a Bears bar in Green Bay, but for NCAA teams.

I want to start a midnight movie night at the bar I work at. I would like to have a cheesy fun movie play(Flash gordon, troll 2, barbarella, heavy metal, etc.), and then have a band play. How can I do this legally? Who do I go to get permission from ? I need to do this as cheaply as legally can be done. Do I have to hop thru all the hoops that a real cinema has to, to show cult films from the 70's and 80's if there is a cover at the bar?

I've landed a trial shift at a pretty busy bar this coming Saturday night. I'm pretty comfortable with most kinds of hospitality work, whether front of house or behind the scenes, but I've never done quite this sort of thing before. What should I know before I go in? How should I gird my loins?

I'll be visiting NYC by myself next week. I would like to meet / hang out with other gay guys around my age. I'm looking for a gay bar with a younger (late 20s - early 30s) crowd. I'm slightly shy / self-conscious and prefer a place with a relatively friendly vibe and lack of "attitude". Any suggestions?

Looking for a nice place in Manhattan to watch the Duke/Villanova basketball (Sweet 16) game tonight, and maybe grab some dinner at the same time. I'm trying to avoid going to one of the many over-crowded sports bars for something a little bit more upscale, intimate, or at least quiet enough to be conversationally feasible.
